  • Rawdog homeboy, some people like it rough...

    kill me

  • What size are the tyres on the Parallax? 25c? 28c?

28 mm should fit, at least at the front. (but increasing an already present toe overlap)

  • What size are the tyres on the Parallax? 25c? 28c?

    25 on 23mm rims

  • Yeah, thats not really one-upping anything…..

    ... that's great

    Glad i haven't offended anyone.

  • Quite like this, but spacers and saddlebag can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I really don't understand seatpacks, they're approximately the size of your pockets and make your bike look crap.
if you put tools in them they rattle on bumpy roads and make your bike sound crap too....
Proper saddlebags I do understand - they're big enough for kendal mintcake, emergency bicycle clips, a sou'wester, a copy of the 1949 CTC guide to taverns etc, but seat-packs - wtf?

Except that carrying your tools, spare tubes, canisters et al is a faff - they swing around, they're heavy, they're annoying. I've got a lovely Arundel Dual on my road bike, it's absolutely solid and absolutely silent. Doesn't even rattle over speed bumps. It also means that I can just grab a jersey and go, rather than having to find all my tools and put them in my pockets.

Maybe this is because I like being prepared as hell, so I might carry a bit more than most people, but I would far, far rather have a saddle pack than all my crap in my pockets.

  • I'm all for seatpacks, only time I don't use one is if I've got saddle mounted cages on. So much better than having everything in your jersey.

  • ^^ so not hhsb.

saddle bag is the start of the slippery road to compacts. next thing you know you'll have a frame pump and a bell, and a feed box on the toptube

  • True, functional bike thread >>>>>>>>

can't fit pump, tyre levers, tube, chokolate, jacket, tube scarf and wallet in jersey pockets because they are already filled with something to drink and my phone. Saddle bags ftw.

  • ^^
Dale just not doing it for me!

  • something to drink.

    ???
    Water bottle cages....

  • i used roll a saddle bag with just the bare necessities tools/patchkit/sparetube/keys/phone but then advanced towards off shoulder pacs

... i find they are better venting for my back than a back pack

So much better being able to load a fresh pair of clothes and deodorant

    ohshittmustbelost

  • I really need a non-inline black seatpost.

    my sentiment exactly.

I met a guy in italy who rides brklz on deep crabon/tubs with just a can of pitstop in his pocket.

Yeah fair, this is on my gross roadie tbh.

No chance of a compact or a feed box though. Tri thread >>>

  • This is my bike! Thanks for the positive replies! And no, Im not a farmer. I bought it form an artist who found its original color too boring, so he went for the John Deere theme. When I got it first, I wanted to restore it to its original state but the paint is quite well done so I kept it like this.
You can check some more pictures of it here

  • Everyone in the Netherlands who lives outside of Amsterdam is a farmer.
