I found hose clamps a bit shit, thick zip ties are far superior, cheaper and easier to carry a couple of spares.
After some experiments, I found this the most secure method.

I'm a fan of jubilee clips, paired with a bit of inner tube I think they're the best method. Zip ties tend to slip with me.
I need to dremel out my new bottle cages to fit on on the Mash. Actually, I need to sell that Mash. Anyone want a Mash?

clamps work for chas
and sergioplus you only need one key to undo, and can reuse. I know what I would choose.

I found that they can come loose, and the sharp edges are more likely to damage your paint.
Either will work, fat zip ties worked best for me. Especially on tubes with non round profile. You just need to get them tight.

Chas also fixie toured with a brake, is that what you would choose too?
probs.

I've never had a problem with them loosening, I don't care about my paint and my tubes are rounded in profile, which probably doesn't help with zip-ties slipping. SO I guess we're both right, and have selected the products that work best for us.
That was almost going to be a reasonable debate about the pros and cons of bottle cage attachment until you got brakes involved. We all know brakes are DEATH, especially with the increased milage touring brings.

Jack's bike is sick. Pooface's work on the lug detailing makes it extra special.
Final changes made to my slave, another big one here:

^^ will get pics up of my "touring" GT next week.
What's the best way to attach bottle cages without the correct brazing? Lots of gaffer tape?
