fuuurrrrkkkkk!!!!!
exactly - it's a pretty generic KHS frame with a dodgy communist trispoke and an old tub disc. I doubt you could get anywhere near a kagero with BLB 90mm carbons for the money the owner dropped on it, but I've never seen a troika spok for sale....
As for the pana - take an orthodox njs build on a stunning frame and then ruin it with early 90's triathlete front wheel & matching (equally cheesy) track disc, and then just take the piss with purple sleeved risers and a coloured plastic aero! genius.

I don't think you're right to be honest. I bet that Tri and disc still cost the owner a fair amount of money.

it is possible - I'm full of shit you know.
That said - I got sniped a couple of weeks back on a red campag. track disc that went for £46 on ebay - would have looked smashing on my bob rat

it is still possible to get stuff on the cheap. i got a clincher tri on the bay for a bargain recently

The HHSB score of carbon from blb is immense. Noone actually racing and in their right mind would go to a shop like that for wheels so if you slap one of their carbon hoops on your bike your ambition will be 100% hhsb

Personally I prefer the appropriation of proper race kit for street usage (irrespective of practicality) rather than the cynical creation of purpose built slave-accoutrements like the notorious wheel.

I'm with Rik.

So far at least.

Of course I'm biased, but I reckon these 2 are pretty slave...

^ That Lee Cooper. Jeez.
-
• #24991
^^ Hell yeah - at risk of sounding sycophantic they're 2 of the bikes that define the genre.

Not seen this Raleigh before, borderline rat, rad though...

That Geoffrey Butler up there.
When was about 15 there was an identical one and a Chas Roberts at a bike shop on Lymington high street not far from Calshot. My Bro and I had a pocket full of cash to buy rad xc-bieks with.... We so nearly bought the butler and roberts and have both regretted it ever since.... He bought an alpinestars cro-mega dx and I bought some skinny steel boutique thing (a Juran XTR)... I don't think there's a single bike that I've regretted as much as that Geoffrey Butler - Full campag pista IIRC and £100 too (the Roberts was £120) . -

^ Some truth in this. To me the raddest bieks to be featured in this thread are often the most unique - this could be through eccentric tastes (borderline anti), obscure/rare components or heavy patina. Some evidence that they may get properly ridden will usually enhance their appeal in my eyes.....
Here's a couple of my favourites showing patina, obscurity and eccentricity....
If you could go on Wiggle or drop into BLB and have the bike on the road by Friday it'll probably look just a little bit dull.
Well put` and stunning bikes, love the first
