I sort of enjoyed it actually, just not as much as bikesnbob's article

I like one of the commenters who compared it to snowboarding. A fair point.
I once felt a "spiritual moment" playing an endurance race on Gran Turismo. I nearly shed a tear and i still remember it. Guy gets a big juicy kick from riding up and down a mountain brakeless. Props. -

When you have climbed this pass and as many others as Patrick on a fixed gear bike, you're opinion might change!
So did everyone and their mum doesn't make him an unique snowflake to be frank.

La sarthe 24h. Sometimes I still see it when I'm listening to really boring people. It's my special place.

Riding down big hills fixed is the closest thing to snowboarding that I've found, I'm guilty of drawing that comparison in the past.

I think "Cycling" and "Fixed Gear" should be defined as 2 completely separate disciplines. Because cyclists can't comprehend riding brakeless fixed!
That's a generalisation so only nearly true.
I've known him for 3 years and he is a sound guy. When you have climbed this pass and as many others as Patrick on a fixed gear bike, you're opinion might change!
The ride deserves kudos, it must have been tough, and not over quickly. I think it's the presentation (making a moody video) that's just not to most people's taste. I find it funny the most pretentious and over-produced cycling video I've seen comes from the DH scene.

Going up ditchling beacon today using a range of gears to make the effort efficient and then coming down the back it maxing out at 45mph. Sure I never climbed or descended alps on my track bikes but fuck me if anyone clipped in or out is coming near speeds like that going down.
To me after all these years of self proclaimed underground hype and aerospokes and whatnot on trackbikes, trying to define yourself through riding drop bars and 46/16 up a gradient hits home about as much as matching anodized parts on a leader 725.
I dont know much about the guy but I follow his tumblr because he takes brilliant photos of roads I would love to ride. But at the same time he names his posts so shit that evidentally he spent more time thinking about what people would think of his person, than actually producing images.
how old is this general argument about fixie hype by the way? :D

The stuff mash did on riding the tour of California in 09 partly fixed struck a good balance of going about stuff like this

I just think that the 'cosmic' logos ruin it.
If it were destickered and braking surface taped up itd look alright I guess. But I think it would look better with matching b43s

"This mountain. Is it my friend or is it my enemy?"
Maybe the mountain is neither. Maybe it's your "frenemy.":D :D :D
Forgot it was today! So no, it's not a hoax.
