i think only people who would want to do the same are giving him props, which is fine?
i give him props if he rode those passes in one try without doing breaks after every 2nd corner. i also can understand the feeling if you're on top of the hill and you know that you had only one gear.
BUT
going downhill brakeless is the worst part and nothing that i can understand (his doctor will explain him his knee surgeries). i for myself realised after 4 years that it's more fun to ride those hills and passes with a road bike (up and down), but those are my 2 cents

I wonder what is happening to all the Livestrong gear that's still out there.
Having said that I was on some US-based roadie forum the other day and people were still all "yeah but he raised $Xm for charity and everyone else was doping too" about Lance.

I really hope someone won a race on a Visp

It hasn't dropped in value as much as i'd of hoped. Still goes for big money on the bay and stuff. Although a few days after the oprah show the sport direct nearest me had the hugest livestrong sale it was pretty hilarious

fair do's on all the other but i do ask this question alot. It does seem a bit backwards
I used to think the same untill I started riding street on a MTB. You can ride loads of really sketchy stuff that you wouldn't be able to on a BMX. There are a lot of people out there doing shit you could do better on a BMX on MTBs though and I'd agree that seems pretty pointless.

to be fair i've been told by some lycra louts and guys i ride with that the stelvio pass isn't even that hard it's just long, pick a nice GI and you'll be fine.
This so very much.
I was surprised by that, after 20 minutes of climbing, you get used to, I think I'll do some climbing on the fixie skidder in the Pyrenees this year.
Col de Puymorens, average 4.4% - comfortable on a standard 67GI
