It's safer than it sounds, I learnt how to skid 1-handed without foot retention from a youtube vid of some douche on a Create outside his local asda.
Very informative, possibly even lifesaving, 2min. well spent if you ask me

Love Negaatios's Low too especially the tape. But wish it was on black box rims instead. The ONLY thing I'd change.

foot retention fail

This is the single speed way. My missus is set up with front break, no foot retention. The owner of my LBS sends his daughter out on the roads of Cambridge with the same set up, and his VP of engineering (i.e. his mechanic) rides 20 miles/day with the same. Makes ss gangsta, and keeps onlookers guessing.

Timbo's on looks is a whole other level, but is also clearly gangsta.

Slow down with 1 rev of serious back pressure, weight as forward as you can go (with one hand on bars!)
when the right pedal reaches 7 o clock lock your leg in full extension and lean further forward till your knackers sit on the stem....
