Nuts money! Get the Tune gum-gum and top cap
The GumGum has a wide fork ID range (I can't remember what it is), but I found that it doesn't hold as well because it rotates easily. I prefer the Ultrastar. From memory both parts are about the same weight when you use a fibre-lyte top cap with the Ultrastar .. about 12g I think?

Was originally after a kcnc one but couldn't be bothered to wait for shipping from the east.
@ Jambon .. use http://clee-cycles.co.uk/esite/home for KCNC stuff always had great next day service from them ..

I'm guessing the carbon one is desiged not to have any focused pressure. So it'll be fine.
I've emailed Piotr Smuda, hopefully he will get back to me at some point- I've ordered once from him, then the second time I gave up and ordered elsewhere.
He does eventually reply, but I get the impression that he is a busy man.

Micro companys are like that. I cant help but love them though.

MCFK are similar

If I'd not had to have the part by a certain time (front mech clamp) then I'd have waited for him, absolutely a fan of supporting the artisan suppliers.

one for the fishy looking bikes thread?
Donkeys aren't really my thing. I've got plenty of pictures of dog dicks that look like lipstick though.

New position works well:
50 miles today, front felt slightly more direct, other than that (which was not a bad thing), all good.

• #636
How did the bar position make the route more linear? Were you wobbling/nodding less?

• #637
He was well nodding. Had a hump backpack and everyting

Why you no Brixton?

My spare tyre is being held hostage by an eccentric mastermind, and without it I didn't want to risk heading out of town, so did this:

Anyone know of a Cannondale stockist who would be able to sell/quote for a replacement of this bike for insurance purposes?
-
• #641
Evans do it for a fiver I think
-
• #642
Evans would be able to get the replacement frame, what I was wondering was if there was anywhere that could get the brakes, the SRM and so on as well- one stop shop, basically.
-
• #643
You wont find a store in the world that carries all that lot.
-
• #644
I tried telling the insurance rep that, no dice.
They also pointed out (twice) that if I undervalued it for insurance (didn't include wheels, or the power meter) then they'd refuse to payout.
-
• #645
Just what British Cycling said when I called them.
-
• #646
Talk to oldskoolracer, the people he insured with were happy to do separate parts.

Surely a small independent bike shop is your winner-
Somewhere like Bike Whisperer? -
• #648
Maybe, I actually want this to be as cheap a valuation as possible though, which makes more sense if it comes from a bike shop that could sell me the bike for that price.
The current estimate (based on the list price of a Super Six Evo Di2 and some of my parts) is above British Cyclings maximum insurable value.
-
• #649
The only solution is to not ride your bike and have it locked up somewhere it can never be accessed. obviously.

Or, fuck insurance off as a bad idea and get an ISA, which is designed to cover the cost of a new bike if it gets pinched.
BC did mention it would be £1,200 per year to insure the bike* if* I could get the valuation down to their maximum insurable value.
