Looking good.
I assume you already know the course and have choosen the gear to suit?

No rear light! Lier!
I took it off because the new version was supposed to arrive in time, but the post office let me down. Didn't really matter on Sunday, as it was sunny.

Yes, although I don't change gear for any course, I just go use 53/14 if the conditions are good and 53/15 on my other wheels if it's a bit crap and I know I'll be going slowly.

Postman must have heard me, parts arrived 2 minutes after I said that.

What sort of avg cadence do you aim to hit on a good run? are you quick enough to hit 100rpm, cause thats impressive.

Average 81rpm on Sunday, best 10 mile ride on that gear last year was 88rpm. The only time I average over 100rpm is in medium gear events.

New tyres fitted today, the 700x24 rear is a genuine 24mm wide, as was 700x23 Open Corsa CX Evo I took off, 700x22 on the front is about 21.5mm, so a bit wider than the 700x20 UltraSpeed I was using until the last of my supply gave up the ghost. Haven't ridden them yet, so I don't know whether they live up to the Radial hype, but they look thoroughly modern.

Incredible bike, but what's with the orange wheel decals? Are they a TT requirement so the judges can see that your wheels are actually turning, not just floating along at supersonic hovercraft speeds?

What's the hype regarding Radial tyres?
-
• #166
They're generally better than tangential tyres.
-
• #167
Better how?
-
• #168
Faster than cross ply?
I think DK has tempo-banned Tester, so you are unlikely to get an answer.

Or that just be the memes thread

Well that's annoying

Track him down, you must frequent TT forums these days?

The radial casing is supposed to result in less hysteresis losses (lower rolling resistance) than other clinchers and also give a smoother ride ..
-
• #173
Less rolling resistance. I see. Anyone actually tested this?

Ed Scoble?

The Vittoria 220tpi nylon casing has always been pretty good, it doesn't need to have been made much better by turning it through 40° to make it roll as well as the much more expensive 320tpi cotton tyres.
