  • Inconsiderate dog poo thread.

  • Poo - soft. Soft has priority.

Lancashire poo is soft, Will. Yorkshire poo is hard as bastard diamonds.

That goes some way to explaining the expression on your face in all the photos of you that I have seen.

    Jesus Christ, I'm bleeding.

  • I meant to post this a couple of days ago, and then this thread appeared - I was stuck in trafficand didn't want to go inside a white van so pulled up along the outside but not enough room to squeeze through van and car, stopped and waited. White van man having a ciggie reaches over to steering and pulls over to let me through -top bloke, of course i said thanks - I did wonder of he was a cyclist or knows a cyclist.

  • Racist.

    Happy Kwanzaa!

  • I did wonder of he was a cyclist or knows a cyclist.

Or he's having sex with a cyclist. Out of curiosity.

  • I drive a LWB Mercedes Sprinter through London pretty regularly, and am always as courteous and considerate to cyclists as possible. Firstly as I am one myself and secondly because I've been run over and smashed up by a motorist in a 'road rage' attack- but I still receive a whole bunch of shit from London cyclists, who seem to take their frustrations out on van drivers regardless, whether it be cyclists punching the side of my van while I've been stationary in traffic to 'let me know that they're there' or Nodders attempting a triple abreast overtake. It's always worst south of the river too.......

  • To be honest it's very hard to be considerate in the LWB Sprinter. You can't see much - especially people right behind you who undertake. I had been driving it for two years. Sad times. Although the time I dented a bendy bus was a highlight (5 meter of dent altogether!).

  • It's always worst south of the river too.......

The worst type is around Effra.

  • It's always worst south of the river too.......

    At least we're literate...

  • It does help with Jobseekers Allowance forms.

  • I think you'll find Clive lives in Islington...

  • That's my first proper "out loud" laugh today.

  • That goes some way to explaining the expression on your face in all the photos of you that I have seen.

    Fucking Hell...

    Repped.

  • Not repped - apparently I must smear rep on others first.

  • or french or belgium or dutch of german or swedish or .....

you get the idea, anyone but UK-ish

On what ground do you think this?

I come from Belgium, and though I never cycled out of London, I feel a bit safer than I would feel in the streets of Brussels or even a small city like Liege. Of course Flemish cities are more bike-friendly but even though I think I would shit myself more than once a day riding in Brussels. I haven't been there for a while though(one and half year), maybe the cycling mania has developed there as well? Maybe people started thinking that cycling is not just a Sunday morning sport but also a way to get around in town? that would be about time though, for a 'cycling nation'.

Isn't it more like a 'the grass is greener on the other side' thingy?

I do think also that the more the drivers will ride bikes, even only when they are youngster before having a licence, they will be more considerate to cyclists. And stop thinking of us as Untermenschen because we don't have a box of steel around us.

I do also think that the usual British politeness and calm can help something even in Big Luhnduhn, just take a look at the drivers in Paris, they are really nuts !

  • Do they still teach that shit?

Please don't disparage my philosophy degree, it's already upsetting enough that employers consider it worthless!

  • All As are Bs ≠ All Bs are As

    scoble in logic fail

it's not logic when human are not logical in itself, cyclists who drive does not make them automatically good.

  • Do they still teach that shit?

Yes, it's part of the 11 plus, which Scoble just failed...

  • it's not logic when human are not logical in itself, cyclists who drive does not make them automatically good.

    Automatic Logic right there.
