  • ^this. Left rotor on but packed bike so it was out of harms way.

Note for Hope hubs: You can pull the axle ends out of the hubs on the outside of the wheels around the frame, making the chance of anything popping through the bag incredibly slim.

  • exactly what snoopy said. rotor sits in triangle.

  • Yeah, I just put the rotor side on the inside, never had an issue.

  • And bring one of these just in case:

  • meh, just use your hands, and if that aint enough, an adjustable spanner!

  • adjustable spanner ftw

  • I put blue shrink wrap around my adjustable so it looks, feels and works just like the park tool DT-2 but a fraction of the cost.

  • A ball broke a spoke on my front wheel the other day and I though it would be a good time to true it up. I started doing so, but the spokes kept snapping off at the nipple when I tried to turn them.

I now have three broken spokes and am no closer to being able to true my wheels.

    Suggestions?

    Lube, wait & try again?

  • Are you holding the spoke when you tighten it?

  • Sounds like corrosion and/or spokes that have no thread left. No cure that I know of. If you are lucky then the remainder are better than the ones you already adjusted but you will probably find that they are all like that. Sorry.

  • Anyone have a padded bike bag I could borrow? Going back to Aus end of the month and need it for 3 - 4 weeks. Happy to buy as well.

  • Yep.

  • Can bring it to the LO probably. Make me an offer if it looks like the right sort of thing.

  • Knobject just sent me this link, cheap and solid looking double-lever mod for the more sensible amongst us...
