Hahaha @dibble posted my tiny bit on turdsday via post office.. doing my bit for national collecting data scheme, maybe I’m being cynical.
on a separate topic I requested a new PCA blood test.. I got heavily quizzed by the clinical physician at my GP about why since I had a test two years ago which showed nothing unusual.
I responded saying that I continue to present symptoms, that frankly my GP does not think important enough and I then questioned why we don’t have a national screening programme for the most prolific and deadly cancer for men, yet we now have one for bowel cancer.. he didn’t have an answer.

I do wonder when does the 'middle age' start these days
40.
Middle aged is between 40-60yo.

"these days" meaning "now that I am there"

You're clearly under 40.
Average life expectancy in the UK is 80.9, so you're young until you are 27, middle aged from 28 to 54, old after that.
(I'm 55 next month fwiw).

Walking into town heading for the LBS a rear wheel in hand, my children in tow, I meet another middle aged, bespectacled, bearded, be-hatted man carrying a rear wheel with his children in tow.
“SNAP” we shout, waving our wheels

why we don’t have a national screening programme for the most prolific and deadly cancer for men, yet we now have one for bowel cancer..
Screening is a funny one - there's a point at which it becomes worthwhile, at the population level (and a different point the personal level), where there are no symptoms presented for a condition.
For prostate cancer, this page covers some of the reasons that it's not worth screening for.
As for deadliest for men? Not really, if you look at the UK numbers. For men only maybe, but that narrows it down a lot.

There's a blood test now which was news to me, it isn't 100% but very good according to my GP. I just got the all clear a couple of weeks ago, my dad went through it so I'm being very careful.

I’m afraid it’s positive – you are middle aged

Elderly 60-81
I object to the term elderly.

What is the best term?

It was perhaps like that back in 90s when people retired at 60. Try to call anyone in office old or eldery or any that shit today, you'd be dragged to HR by your ears....
DO remember you'll be still at work past 70, young man 😁

I think I'm waaaaaaaay beyond that.

You know when they interview rugby players who say they "never felt 100% during their career, always carrying a knock" - this is middle age isn't it? As soon as one minor ailment/twinge/debilitating pain clears up, another one appears to take its place. They often overlap.
Er…
