The endless bleating on about other road users. Don't get me wrong, I do it too, but it is tiresome.

motorcycle going a 30mph between me and a bus when they really wasn't that much space. Also busses.

Lycra & leg shaving.
Disclaimer: Lycra is fine if your in a race.

It makes perfect sense to wear lycra when cycling, what's wrong with it?

I love most aspects of cycling, and the frustrations below are utterly worth enduring for the benefits are so much greater
but punctures at inopportune moments (when I am in a hurry) and generally when its cold wet and dark can be a frustration
waiting at red lights for some nodder to amble through and then get in the way when I am setting off again
inconsiderate road users (car, bike or ped) but then i am also aware i sometimes fuck up
getting soaked on the way to meet someone, knowing i will have a few hours sat in wet clothes which will then get very cold on the return journey

Nothing.. I am never more happy and serene than when I am on a bike. I mostly find myself grinning like a loon despite being in pain.
I fucking love riding a bike..

You boys speak the truth!
I've been soaked for whole days when touring but It's all part of the fun. I've never been happier than when I'm riding a bike. I'd like to get in to more club rides and audax in 2012 and I'm sure I'll enjoy that just as much.

like Brave, I tend to have the grin of cat from up north, feel a child with the bestest birthday present, joyous as lawrence etc when I am on a bike
the simple moving meditation is one of my favourite therapies

Bike thieves. The cunts.
I had a dream last night that some fucker had nicked my bike, related, I think, to the trauma of a friend suggesting I could lock my precious wheels up at Marble Arch and go and then walk down Oxford Street to eat cupcakes with her in Selfridges. Classic anxiety profile.

Exactly. I remember reading about the Crane brothers saying how after a while of cycling you get in to a rhythm and if you enjoy it you don't even realise your doing it.
Reading your ride reports bring a smile to my face as well James.

Thieves.
Big locks.
BMW drivers.
'I am bring death' blue badge sporting, Toyota driving mini cab drivers.
Cycle lanes.
The politics and waste of cycle 'friendly' road controls.
Drivers who think cyclists are scum.
Cyclists who help perpetuate the myth that cyclists are scum.
My seemingly perpetual lack of fitness.
My knees.
Really wanting SPDs and shoes for my road bike and not being able to afford them so that I still have to wear converse on my weekend rides.
The fact that I look like Kenny Everett when I wear my bib tights.
Everything else I really love!!!

My fitness levels, or lack there of.

My cycling angst - before most group rides i worry that i will not be fit enough, i will drag everyone down, be the weakest link, might cause a crash, will not be good enough, might need to bail etc etc
Very few of these have ever happened, but they are the mental gremlins

being a bit shit at maintenance.
I enjoy a bit of fettling, but it rarely improves the situation.
