  • It didn't 'give up', I crashed.

Yeah, good games - Claudbutler was the star of the show this week, with much improved positioning, defence and ball control. I think when it's wet, the play's a bit slower and people focus more on passing and making space than heads down charges.

  • we're in the wrong thread, its the rivalry talk in the events thread that threw me off... ill move it

  • Can I now nominate DAN LJ SUPER SUB!

    No

  • I just like to associate with a better class of people than yourself, with out fallling to insults and dergatory comments on a forum regarding my private life. Your a fine one to talk about being brave on a forum after your last spout of abuse, could not say anything to my face last Sunday? Pointless anyway as you would have been ignored. Go away and be awesome in your own little world...and keep upsetting anyone you ever assoicate with along the way......

@2squeak Hey man its obvious you two cant get on. which everybody knows and nobody cares about. So rather than trolling the threads why dont you both keep your disagreement in your personal lives. beacause its all getting a little boring. frankly I am on here because I want to have fun. If I wanted to watch a soap opera I would turn on the TV.

  • Already been said in BS thread, where it belongs...

ANYWAY, back to the league. It seems three out of six teams can't play at the moment and as said before, 4ndy is back at the weekend and we'd really like to get one of our games out of the way. That leaves us Fin's team if Ross manages to sort his bike out or Dan's team if Rob can play. Can either team confirm if they can play?

  • I'm not in town ths weekend unfortunatly, birthday do out of town which was arranged before the league was announced etc, cannot really say def that as a meal has been booked etc, bit off of me to def it i reckon. Sorry!

  • I'll be there if anyone wants to form a breakaway...

  • oooooo tempted

  • I am not around on the weekend either, I am back in France.
Tomorrow, Reservoir Cogs (?), denim shorts and jeggin's a la Fin... any chance of a league game?

  • yeah i think we can get a game tomorrow:

Reservoir Cogs (Fin, Ross, Si) VS Romanian Mountain Scouts (Rob, Dan, Raz)

  • looks like my new handle is Jegless..

  • Gauche remis le pouvoir!!

  • can't be arsed to mem-ise that too. you'll have to do it yourself

  • I'll be present tomorrow and Sunday - but my teammates are non-forumgers, so dunno about them? Would be nice to get a few games out of the way, though... I suspect March is going to be very busy with substitutes!

  • Dan, don't you have Rob's number and Raz is deffo on facebook? Maybe we should rethink subs?

  • Raz is there tomorrow and Sunday... he is also on the forum, but is lurking at the moment

  • LURK MOAR.

I think we need to reiterate the general rules for everyone (esp new people)
Rules (I think) we need consensus on.

    1) Goal size (size, marking) + goal refs?
    2) Leaning on sides/Footdowns/Tap outs
    3) Ball reset (when it leaves the court)
    4) Time out/Technicals

Anyone going to cambridge over the weekend?

  • I reckon we should follow the current ruleset, adapted for our needs:

Goals 180cm - can someone bring a measuring tape tonight?
    Leaning on sides okay.
1 time out allowed per game for technical reasons only.
When ball goes out it should go back to the team who didn't hit it last - timer stops for duration.
Goal refs if possible, but probably won't be most of the time.

  • Can I suggest a team name for me, Chris and Steve?
    **
    ...Liquid...Polo...**

  • HAHA!! Yes!

Asim's just spotted a gap in the opposition's defence (razor sharp)
Lucas and Matt, too busy posing for the camera as usual

  • Nice team logos! I forgot how awesome shirts were in the 90s.

I was assuming that a team consisting of Chris, Stu, Steve would be called CSS which would stand for Calthorpe Sharp Shooters, Can't Stop Scoring, Cerious Spelling Society or something like that...

    Liquid polo's fine too though.

  • Triumphant opening game for the Romanian Mountain Goats - think I updated the spreadsheet correctly...

  • I've edited the the doc. Points are accumulated per round rather than per game.
