Puppy sharing? Is like like a pet version of wife swapping?
Sounds grim.

5.April
Hose Pipe bans and Drought.
In the past month I've been enjoying the sunny warm weather. Its given me a taste of summer and what boat life in good weather is all about.
It's really good.
Somewhere though, in the not so far reaches of my mind I've been worried. Others on the river have mentioned it too. They're worried about where we're supposed to be for the Olympics, what it'll be like and they're worried about being trapped somewhere when the drought hits the canals.
It's a bit of a lottery.
I've just gotten my full canal licence and I'm keen to go explore the rest of the london system. But, I'm hesitant.
What if I'm out west and get stuck out there? When are the bans going to mean canal closure? Or will they?
I simply don't know.
I'm frustrated. -

You'll never know, unless you go find out! Go with the flow ...

**Size isn't everything, is it?
**The plan was to buy Miracle, try my hand at the lifestyle and then trade up.
Well, its been 6 months and I have learned many, many things.
I know how to drive my boat and moor it (still with some struggling and panic)
I know how to light my burner and chop wood.
I know that life on the river Lea is brilliant and I want to keep this lifestyle.
More than any of that I know I want a bigger boat.Much to my surprise, I'm on the third smallest liveaboard on the river. There is Barny at 18ft with 12ft of living space which until recently was home to man and dog (sadly just man now) and Maid Marion at 20ft but with he cruiser deck at 9ft and a large bow has even less living space than Barny.
I don't know how they do it. BUT THEY DO.
With Miracle I am more or less content. Yes, I want a bigger boat, but that's more for entertaining than anything ...and the storage.
With the market and economy the way it is a small boat has more going for it. You pay less insurance, less licence, less mooring fees. It's very practical. I'm saving thousands a year. That's a comfort.
Without the capital to trade up I need to hold on to that comfort and keep saving. If the economy gets worse before it gets better again (which it may do) I'm in a good position.
just a thought.. -

If it not too rude to ask, is it possible to have an interior shot of Miracle? it'd be interesting to see how you and duckie live.

^ this is my main living space. One wide chair next to the fire. Kitchen. i'm standing at the bathroom door / closet to the left which isn't in the pic. My bedroom is behind me and that converts to seating for four people... but mainly its Duckie space in the mornings because the sun creates a nice warm spot there when i open the curtains.

get a dozen or so of these;
rope it to the back of Miracle.
Instant jetty for dinner party in the open.
one little girl left - black and white. My friend had originally thought she had a home then the bloke said he was going to puppy share her with a few people.. I've seen this work ok if they all lived in one place while the pup becomes a dog; but they don't and it sounded like a bit of a disaster..so she refused to hand her over. Better to wait and find her a proper home me thinks.
