for some mystery reason the wheel just isnt coming out of the dropouts and i need to change a flat. need to get my mum's fiancee on the case as i reckon it just needs a shitload of brute force and i certainly cant supply that.

Any requests for a model? The obvious choice is the traditional crane, but there are other models we can do that are easy and look cool.

Ahh yeah. Great shout. Iris it is. Everyone try and bring along an old train ticket too, I'll teach you how to make a jumping frog from one. We can have a compo for furthest jump.

sorry dudes but im out unless i can find a 110mm spaced wheelset by saturday which i highly doubt.
- Pootachu
-
• #293
Did you manage to get it out?
-
• #294
yep, but it turns out that the wheels that came with the bike as complete were 120mm spaced wheels jammed into a frame which is spaced to 110mm.
-
• #295
Boris Bike?
-
• #296
nah, i hate them. il see if i can borrow a mates bike or something.
-
• #297
Mate just use a 120 wheel, and bend the stays apart. It'll be fine, I do it with my Panasonic. Steel frame right?
-
• #298
yeah its a steel frame. is that what a cold-set is? is there any way of doing it accurately?
-
• #299
Sort of. I had that quandary when I bought the frame (keirin 110 spacing) and there seemed to be a drought of 110 hubs at the time. But many trusted professionals* assured me it's totally find to stick a 120 in there. Three years later, all still fine.
*honest, including Superted who was sober.
-
• #300
so have you actually bent your stays or have you just shoved a 120 wheel in? if its the former, how did you do it?
Cool, might be up for this!
