You want unabridged yes?
-
• #2229
Indeed. There is a longer unabridged version available, more suitable for longer rides.

Jasmine Muller from Kingston CC is attempting the Lejog record, started at 5am this morning.

I quite like the tracker. -

Trans Iberica started Sunday night, just 7 riders for the first year https://frrt.org/tibr2018/riders and https://www.transiberica.cc/ @CarlosBI 2nd but knows the terrain better than most from experience.
@hippy are you going to do a third TABR + TCR next year? Or PBP and something else?

Thread here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/318777/
I'm definitely NOT doing TABR next year even though I think I can do better, but I might do TCR again if they'll have me (and the CPs throw up something interesting).
I'm going to qualify for PBP so it's an option but whether or not I ride will depend on other races/scheduling. There's quite a few other big audaxes I'd like to ride plus things like RATN and TAW.

Ian To is going for LEJOG again https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnnls88hdDQ/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=45tgd145vv6o

Yeah, he tweeted the other day their window was open and now it's a weather waiting game.
-

Without being rude, it seems very futile. There are a handful of people in the world that could possibly take he record and he’s not one of them.
-
• #2239
You never know until you try though.
Gives us something to watch anyway.
-
• #2240
Yes, agree with both of you: I wouldn't expect him to beat the record but will be good to see how he goes.
He had pretty shit weather last time and his setup didn't seem to be optimised. He must have learned a few things that could help him.
-
• #2241
We’re all always learning.
Wonder if he’s aero optimised?
That said, Michael riding sat up due to his neck for a long period wasn’t exactly areo!

I saw pics of @wheels_of_fire Looked like he was riding a 10, the crazy bastard.

On the plus side, you know there is scope to best your previous time if you go again.

• #2245
Are you doing Ruska Samuli?
-
• #2246
No, not this year, don't have time.
-
• #2247
Ah shame, will try to follow it again this year.
-
• #2248
Yeah, it'll be interesting. A few last years riders will be there again, and looks like several doing it as their first ride as long as that. About the same number of riders as last year I think, not sure how many exactly. Mikko will be there of course, straight after TCR and SRMR. Weather has been nice until this week, now it has been raining for three days and very windy. Pretty warm though.

Ian To, serial bullshitter
I wonder if he will do this one on a diet of milk and sausages only? -

Until the bout of NotGoingToCompleteItInTimeItis comes back and he bravely climbs off, somewhere around Carlisle?
A big fucking roaring SWSesterly could make it interesting though. Haven't checked the forecasts...
(Good luck to him though, always good that people keep having a go at things like this.)
Looks like that's been done:

Looking at the cover pic makes me think it will definitely contain some useful undercarriage related information that might help during future races.
