Looks like Ian To will be going 1st. He said 3days this morning so that's Saturday morning start. Sure he's thought about it and must be the best time to go though some other locations further up the road at quieter times.

"Have rejected Thursday - watching Friday, Saturday, Sunday all as possible start days..."RRA
"If two or more Active notices will use any of the same roads on the same day, the Records Secretary shall have the power to specify alternative start times, to ensure that any risk of paced riding is minimised." -

Word is they can start within a 5 ish hours of each other. Which I think would make for fantastic spectating.
-
• #1811
That'd be brilliant - it'd definitely add extra interest! Be interesting to see whether it'd affect the mental state of either rider too, especially after To's TCR performance.
-
• #1812
That would be mentally quite useful for people who like to race others vs. a clock. It'd definitely help spur me on if I was being chased down or trying to chase down another rider.

I could bring my track pursuit skills to the table... and remember to pack a liquorice allsort ;)

I saw Will Girling is going to try do 4000mi in 17 days, 240mi/day. Across europe, the one Sean just did, where he completed it in 25 day, 160 miles/day.
I'm not sure even I could do 240mi for 17 days. So fair play, tall order to set.

Ah, that's the north south one. Northcape Tarifa
Never heard of him though. How do you know him?

• #1822
no, I just crunch numbers. I'm illiterate.
-
• #1824
Ah shit. It's a Lee Fancourt record.
21 day 14h.
So 186mi/day. More realistic. Trying to take 4 days off that, by adding 55 miles is a strong ask.
-
• #1825
Yeah, it was one of a bunch of records he went for a few years ago.
What do the race guys do? What is the Northcape Tariffa race best time?e
I listened to the podcast. Was good.
What you said about training is right. But you’re blessed with genetics also. And it’s best to work to them not against.
But if you did have 20h a week to train, you’d be even faster!
