So stupid

Surprised they didn’t mention the street judges who will patrol in order to keep the perps in line.

• #13880
Yeah the idea fills me with dread

• #13881
Reminds me of the arcologies in sim city 2000.

That city will be mega

There are aspects of it that are clearly quite good... but it's almost like every idea has been taken to an extreme and will then be forced on people. It makes it dystopian rather than utopian, and they clearly aren't self-aware of that to realise.

They’d definitely be charging more for the units at the top near the light and fresh air eh?
Somewhat of a Fifth Element vibe to it too.

Where in the Middle East are they planning to put that?

MBS said he wanted it to be 'his pyramids' if anyone was concerned it was going to be built using shitty working practices.

I'm not entirely sure that the working practices utilised in building the pyramids were exemplary.
-
• #13892
I thought they discovered the pyramids were built by actual builders who were well looked after etc.
Not sure if that is true or not.
-
• #13893
That was entirely my point.
-
• #13894
Apologies, as usual the point went over my little bald head.
It's obvious that the pyramids were not built by actual builders, they're finished. Besides which, no Pharaoh could afford that quantity of tea and doughnuts.

Don't know if anyone has been to the current exhibition at the Barbican Curve but one of the way-out ideas for saving the planet was to have everyone living in a huge megacity and not allowed out to the rest of the planet so it can 'heal'. Seems like a solid idea with no downsides or potential issues.

What about runners? Surely you’d need some kind of sandmen to chase them down and a carousel to keep the population under control by culling at a pre-defined age.

Excellent for the Fixie Skidders, not so much the Gravel Crews.

Don't worry, I got the reference...
