  • Will do! Be a week or two now. Will make it in-depth for your wait!

  • I got a set of these last week but haven't put them on the bike yet. The material they are made of feels really strong and I would guess metal cages would fail sooner. They seem like a pretty good copy of the salsa anything hd cage to me. If you use straps instead of bolts to secure it to your forks, it's even better as it has little slots in them so the straps run closer to the cage.
The bags are a bit heavy though so I'll probably replace those.

  • Long shot here, has anyone got some spare Apidura buckles from their older "backcountry" models, circa 2016-ish? One on my saddle bag broke, I asked them replacement buckles which they kindly sent for free, but they sent me the new ones which are slightly different and would require me a much bigger job since I'd have to replace both ends of the buckle.

  • An easy (and better) fix is to get some aluminum g-hook buckles in the right width. They're stronger, lighter and easier to operate when you have cold/wet hands. You can just cut the female part of the buckle off the bag and hook directly onto the strap. I've done it on my Carradice bag (and others) and much prefer it.

  • Large bottles on forks - can you feel the liquid swilling around as you turn?

  • thumbs up

  • Great! Love this.

  • Depends how much liquid I guess!

  • Is there anywhere in the uk i could get a Mr Fusion seatpost clamp? 27.2mm

  • Can you not use any rack mounting clamp and file the lip?

  • Yeah that's what i've gone with. See how i get on.

  • did you love the experience so much you've committed to immediately upgrading?

  • What's the exact opposite of that?

  • Having children

  • Ergon recently released a MTBikepacking-oriented saddle.
Unlike many other products which are just a normal product with "bikepacking" written on it I am a fan of this, and I would like to try it soon. Most MTB saddles are not made for being seated for a long time whilst not wearing bibs.
More products like this please, reasonably priced and well made with good customer service.

  • After considering a Carradice addax bag, I now feel more inclined to go down the route of a frame bag as it'll be easier and cheaper without the need for a support.

Anyone got experience with ACEPAC stuff? They seem to fit an mtb better that traditional triangle frame. ordering some stuff from bike24 and they have a few in stock online. It will be used for daily rides and hold pump, tools, food, a warm layer etc... I won't be travelling the globe with the bag.

Also, I have exposed cable routing on the topside of the tt. Has anybody ran into problems with this?

  • Have you looked at the vincita frame bags on planetx? The small one fits nicely in my medium salsa fargo, which is mtb geo as well.

  • Sorry I should’ve mentioned. It’s for a traditional triangle frame not mtb.

Think restrap is looking most favourable for price+size/shape but I feel they're a bit cheap looking. I'm sure the quality is great like their pedal straps.

  • Their framebags in bigger sizes are designed to fit traditonal triangle frames.
Have you looked at the half frame bags by podsacs that are also on planetx? They are affordable and also waterproof

  • Carradice is much more easy to use, holds value well, is properly waterproof, easy to modify, fits every bike, cool heritage. Little frame bags only good for day rides where you don’t stop on very bumpy terrain.

  • Yeah you've sold me. I'll get saving for a rack support.

  • Cool, make sure to get the QR version of the bagman.
