    Roofie colada?
Does this smell of chloraform to you?

  • just to balance the cynicism and apparent stingyness expressed here: i did once splash out on a charter flight from shoreham to le touguet for a lunch date. drove down in the morning, flew, ate, flew again then drove back to london. unfortunately that relationship didnt really go anywhere but we did have a great day out. funnily enough though, spontaneous and cheap dates seem to be more fun. go figure.

how much did this run you?

  • Saw the Princess Bride at the bike powered cinema last night. Great fun. Next one is Labrythn. Good date potential.

  • how much did this run you?

    about 1400 all in.
    charter was around 1100.
pretty average restuarant prices at la dune aux loups in LT. think it came to around 120 euros. other stuff added up.

  • no, it was her rear ending me and then having a go at me!

Your fault! Piss poor signaling skills.

  • I'd be more worried if she wanted a cycle funeral.

Not too fussed about this - since I will be dead it doesn't seem to matter.

  • My perfect second or third date would involve cycling (of course) along the canal paths or over to Highgate Cemetary (the tours are good) or the Chelsea Physic Garden, a city farm (Surrey Docks Farm is lovely as it overlooks the river) or along the Green Way to the Olympic site. The date would also involve coffee drinking, lots of south east asian food and possibly a movie or V&A/NPGallery if it's going really well. To be honest though, if you are getting on well with someone I don't think it matters what you do.

Meeting the family too early can be a bit hardcore though, as is introducing the date to your entire back catalogue of Acid House, Blues ballad, bitpop, new Romantics, Christian hip hop, Deathcore, or whatever music genre you are in to really, especially anything 'experimental'. I have been introduced to some of my favourite artists by bfs but not when it's been forced upon me.

And please don't show me your entire collection of Rapha until I agree to move in with you. Merino and lycra are for relationships not dates.

Oh yes, and don't mention the 'L' word or marriage for at least 5 dates.

  • When is it inappropriate to ask for a threes-up?

  • About tea time, I would imagine.

  • Tea Time Threes-up?

Better than first thing in the morning.

  • Well it would be silly at elevensies.

  • Your fault! Piss poor signaling skills.

    Has he considered cycle training?

  • Kew gardens is awesome

Watch out for the "Kew been Scobled" thread to come soon.

  • A friend has recently started this: http://twitter.com/FirstDateHell. It made me laugh.

    PMSL at this thread.

And that is a great twitter feed. What twitter was meant for.

My view has always been to keep the first date to a cup of coffee. If it is good, you can always say "hey, do you fancy..." otherwise, you can get away quick.

Second date is the arty exhibition, posh dinner and back to my place for the rubber sheets and ice sculpting.

  • You might want to warn MissM about these plants then:

    very good :)

  • I went and ate some bison on a date last night. The bison was good, the date, not so much. Some people have such high ideas of themselves.

  • That explains the dress... ;P

I wonder if, on some other forum out there, someone else is writing the same thing.

  • I wouldn't wash my face in that kettle.

  • I've been thinking about starting to date again, just got to get permission off the missus.

I'm doing this tonight. Not a date.

    Best. Film. Ever.

    The Princess Bride that is.

Although Labyrinth is always good for Bowie's Jared wig/performance.

I could never form a meaningful relationship with anyone who didn't love Bowie and/or the Princess Bride. Although if you just told me your name was Inigo Montoya, I'd be happy for a meaningless relationship.

How do you feel about crazy golf goodhead?
