i tried to buy one some years ago over trocvelo but most of the seller didn't speak english or wanted to ship them outside their town/country

Yeah troc vélo is really a french forum I don't think people deal much with foreign countries besides Belgium. Which is good for us frenchies ;)

I always think that Look bikes appear better when painted yellow.
Myself, i own a red KG 257 that is used as my rain bike.

that 496 and 396 are rather lovely.

This is the only pic i have at the mo of my look 461 team.
I am still fiddling with the stem and cockpit setup so please excuse the headset spacers.
I promise I'll take a better picture when finished but for now here it is.

oops.
slowly getting there... a few cosmetic changes so far really, but it looks much tidier. I've got a box in the spare room with a slowly increasing stock of da7700; when it starts to overflow I'll start swapping pieces onto it. -

yeah! What bars are those? Look like spotters but silver?
-
• #786
Looking good with the Black tape/tyres and the Mac/Ercol foreground isn't bad either.

Not quite - Nitto M106 NAS. They're closest to the Soma Highway One's, only (in my opinion) a slightly tidier shape and much pricier. I ordered them from the link; even with customs came in cheaper than Kinoko (but did take a while).
The tape is the Cinelli Caleido, which goes rather nicely with the crazy paint job. -
• #788
oh i see, it's all spotty. I'd normally say 'you can have your bar tape any colour as long as it's black' but i'll make an exception for this. Looks great.

Thought I recognised them! Do you mind me asking how long they took to arrive and how much extra you were charged with customs? And also, what's the process? Extra charge when they turn up at the post office?? I put in an order over the weekend and had confirmation of shipping from Alex's Cycles on Monday.
Damn, they do look smart.

they were in the country after 5 days but customs was slow so took two weeks door to door. £27 this end to get them from customs to my greasy paws.
In terms of process? Place order, wait, refresh tracking number excitedly, wait. wait a little longer. Get a Parcel Force slip through the door, pay the charge, the bars turn up next day.

Cool, cheers. 27 quid! Flippin 'eck. Still, two weeks of budget lunches and we're quits. Haven't made my vegetable and bean soup for a while...
-
• #792
Even with the 27 quid it comes out cheaper than anywhere else I could find them (especially in stock, in the colour and size I wanted). Deep down I still doubt it's really worth it over the Somas, but I wanted things to be the best that they can be on this and I owed someone a shiny Christmas present so took the plunge.

I wish I could get handlebars as a Christmas present for my girlfriend. Life would be so much easier.

Anybody feeling short of LOOK logos? This stem cap was supposed to be laser etched, but they engraved it by mistake. £5 posted, no screw (needs M6 countersunk screw of whatever length reaches your star nut/expander etc.) Obviously suits modern ones best, but those are the ones with AHeadsets anyway. A white enamel paint fill would probably be ideal, see the stem caps thread for people's home colouring efforts.

ooooofffff.

Quite! I'd never noticed the size of the BB on the 496. Without a chainset to hide behind it looks vast.

Would anyone object to me claiming those? rosie could do with a pair of slippers for around the house...

For around the house? You'll hear her coming from a mile away!
