Finished building up my 253 a couple o' weeks back, finding it very much 'phwoar' to ride (despite the too short chain).
First Look frame I've owned, they all ride this nice?

Pretty much. Most people who have Look bikes have the feeling that the bike is just right, and a lot of people who have 'upgraded' to something else find themselves disappointed.

Invisible steerer where it goes through the stem - must be super light!

A dark day...

that^ is all kinds of win. Awesome beater/pub bike. No dark days at all!

It's not carbon, it's not spindly, it's not light. It's probably not even made in France.
Would be a fun pub bike - but it's not a great LOOK.

not to mention that Mondrain would be turning in his grave.
That said, i wish it was mine...

It's not carbon
The La Vie Claire 753 team bikes weren't carbon
, it's not spindly
With a 40mm+ downtube, my 585 isn't spindly
it's not light
My 464 is half a pound heavier than the same size Koga FPT, but it's a better track bike
It's probably not even made in France.
Most of them aren't, including the high end carbon ones.

The rather beautiful KG253 (Columbus Nemo) wasn't carbon either, still regret not buying one when I had the opportunity

^^ Ok - some of this is true but name a worse LOOK.
Which LOOK bike would you swap in order to have this one (the Mi 80)?
-
• #299
It's not "which Look would you swap", but "which contemporaneous Muddy Fox/Ridgeback etc.?"

just added el presidente's beautiful kg241 to my collection. looking forward to getting it built up and seeing how much lighter / stiffer / awesome it is than my 221.
i've got one of these and i love it - they go for peanuts too
