So basically it is like bicycle tag of bike, but in an afternoon and in teams - teams go out and bag a tag each somewhere in a designated zone in the City, bring the photos back to base, then Julia supplies us with all the photos and the first team to tag them all wins. It was Julia's brilliant idea and a lot of fun last year - makes more sense if you've played bicycle tag. Come play!

No mates so I'll either join a team on the day, or hang around LMNH wearing a cycling cap drinking coffee and looking like a cyclist on recovery, or follow random teams about while swigging from a can of Tennents Super and heckling them.

Awesome ... I'll set out the tagging zones nearer the time, at the moment it's looking roughly like 6 teams again (of 3, but not a problem if teams are different sizes). The zones will centre on LMNH this time, instead of being off in the City.
Any further thoughts re: receiving the tags photos digitally rather than as print outs? Would they be too small to see on phones, or might there be battery issues?
-
• #260
Printing sounds better, especially as a souvenir sort of thing. Perhaps people can donate money for the costs? The Phone idea does sound good, but I have a feeling something may go wrong. I can not confirm but I am not working at the moment so hope I can join in. I will let you no sooner to the date.

Having photos sent by mail shouldn't be too bad on a battery. Most phones can last for a couple of hours on heavy use. Also - sticking the pictures on the web and letting people download them means that the load can be shared amongst team members' phones.

No need for prints as souvenirs, thats what spoke cards are for right?
Phones should be fine, as long as they are charged before people set out for it.
I think that I'm in for this (certainly planning on being there) but things are a little changable at the moment, so I'm being a bit wary of putting my name down ATM.

Yup - there will be spoke cards ... I'll put one together, I feel a theme coming on ...
The printed tags get a bit tatty as they are not protected, and carried around folded up in pockets.I can put all the tag pictures online ... that's what taggycat.com was for :)

I'd be happy to print spoke cards and laminate, as I can do for free at work!
Also, my view on the printing/online debate, is impartial really. I've got a smart phone so would be able to download the images fine, but I think not everyone has one...
If we do go for the printing option i'd be happy to put a few quid in a pot for the printing costs etc.

Thanks for the offer - might take you up if I'm short on time. I can print at work, and have a load of pouches at home. Good to have a reserve but I should be ok :).
The printing of the tags on the day is more about the time really, and the lugging of the printer over to LMNH. Cost is easy to offset with peeps chipping in. It can be a last minute decision, and I'm sure there will be people to help lug if I need it.

I don't have internet on my phone because I'm too poor :( but if I'm in a team with someone who has an iphone it will be fine.

Okay folks ... I've decided to keep it to 6 teams, I reckon that going to hunt for 5 tags is probably quite enough. Teams should form themselves on the day, but I'd like even distribution - so currently 3 or so per team.
Have pm'd Sumo to ask whether LMNH have a printer that I can print a dozen sheets off so I can distribute the tag photos to everyone.
Hope it stays dry!!

Meet at NOON on the 19th, at Look Mum No Hands.
First Post updated:
****2012 LFGSS TAGGY CAT - NOON 19TH AUGUST 2012 @ LMNH ****
GAME PLAN & RULES
*Email your tags to: tag at taggycat dot com *GAME PLAN
MAP will be revealed on the day
TEAMS – YOUR ZONE ALLOCATIONS MUST BE KEPT SECRET![]Collect your TAG – you have 45 minutes to go collect your TAG from your designated zone. Make your tag relatively easy to find – not too obscure, but interesting. Email it back to base – WITH A CLUE. Return to base and wait for other teams to return, and tags to be printed. Mark up your tag on your map using the sticker provided and show the judge where it is.
[]The game commences – each team is issued a set of prints of the other teams tags, you will not know in which zones they were taken, although there will be only one tag per zone. Go find those tags. As you get each one, email the tag photo back to base (with the team's name) and mark up the location with a sticker on the map.
[*]The winning team will be the first team back to base with a complete set of photographed tags, and all the locations marked on the map.RULES
- Tag photos must recognisably show every team members bike
- No trespass / illegal activity
- Tag locations must be freely accessible to the public
- Zone boundaries are along the centres of the roads marked in the black lines. Tag photos, and tag locations must be within the respective zones
- No reflecto porn, no blank / near blank walls
- Extra kudos for finding cat related tags and humorous photos
- A tie breaker tag may be used if required
- The judge’s decision is final, the judge is Long&Winding and will be at Tag Central, Look Mum No Hands.
- Tag photos must recognisably show every team members bike

Good work L&W. Loving the spoke card!
I have no idea how this works, but it sounds fun. Is it too late to get involved?
