Loft companies often have an all in one service inc drawings by a technician. But you will get standard products and details - possibly bad ones. A good architect should not only make sure the detailing looks nice but also that you are maximising space (quality and quantity) . Also insulation - if at all possible exceed the minimum and make sure plenty cross ventilation . The planet is only getting hotter.

Excellent detail as usual - I was tempted to get colour changing and try to make it go from dim orange / red sunrise up to normal 2700k. But maybe that would be too tricky.

a budget diy sunrise alarm
I do this with a cheap LIFX bulb that I've set on a sort of sunrise setting that's available in their app. Not as gentle as what what jono84 describes perhaps, but effective enough for its purpose.

Roach Matthews.
the Matthews used to be a member here and rides bikes FWIW -

It’s definitely the search bar

The Roach also rides bikes FWIW

Thanks Gary. I can confirm that James and I did used to ride bikes. We’re better architects than cyclists IMHO.

Nope. Address bar, or tab bar as apple calls it, unless you’re talking about something else?

Come on lads. It’s the address and the search bar.
Also, it’s way better at the bottom.

Lighting chat - a colleague asked me to ID a vertical tube pendant light, showed me a photo of an array of them across a room. Found this - wondering if there's a cheaper version... ideally LED and can do variable light levels. Colour change not necessary, fine gradation dimming not necessary, but like 2 or 3 steps of brightness would be ace.

preferred/max diameter?
Edit: and what colour temp?
-
• #4866
I don't know! Just something of that vibe. It's at the ideas stage. For a working area so assume cool temp.

For a working area
You didn't ask so i won't comment.
Encapsulite do some solid well priced kit. It's a bit agricultural but they have 30 and 70mm diameters that might suit. A lot of there products can be hung vertically just make sure they have 360 distribution.

If you want something more refined but not mega bucks then Intra's Issa is nice

Hay do a neon minimal style led tube, not sure if they dim. Probably more suited to a home environment however.

As has already been said, these links are great!
I particularly like Intra's various suspended strip lights that include a separately adjustable upward indirect (in addition to the direct) source. Annoyingly no prices online.

Has anyone used Holte by Columbia road for their kitchen? Thinking about pushing the button on some cabinet fronts to go with some ikea backs.

This looks promising. I still haven’t visited the High Line in New York, this one would be closer methinks

Castlefield Viaduct in Manchester is already open...I think. It's a bit difficult to find up to date information on it.

What are the forum approved switches and sockets that aren't standard white plastic?
Looking for something nice for a victorian terrace but all the affordable brushed brass/antique brass ones aren't very nice and not sure what else to look at.

MK metal clad in white.
Can anyone recommend some in SE London?
