OK, we have convened by PM and decided that now is not an appropriate time for either of us. Shame, would have been fun. And expensive.

I looked at ferry + motorbike + fuel to berlin = a months wages ( I don't earn a fat lot)... so maybe not :(

Organisationally I couldn't cope, financially I can't afford it, but I've got the legs for it and plenty of shit to work out of my system if someone takes care of the doing and the thinking. Not carrying anything on the bike though. Loaded touring can fuck right off.
Had I not been working this week i would have been up for being the support vehicle

From about 3pm yesterday:
Cancer Research UK 100 miles still from berlin and its raining, again! Will be arriving tomorrow at this rate. Had a blast on bremen and the best descents yet yesterday. Nearing the capital now.
Hopefully they made it. Jess apparently had some sort of bike failure at the 100 mile to go mark but don't know what:
100 miles from Berlin and my bike breaks and we have torrential rain. Think we'll get there tomorrow at this rate. Disheartening.
Fingers crossed they made it yesterday :)

Well they made it! :)
Sorry for the delay w8th this post but we got in last night and went strqight out for beer and food to celebrate. berlin is super cool, and our host, matt, equally so. After a slow day on sunday due to bad weather and jess' deraileur refusing to change gear, and missing the ferry across the river by 12 minutes, we ended up wild camping in the woods next to the river. still 70 miles from berlin.
Matt and Andy stuck to the one gear with jess for the last two days, and yesterday we stopped for a lunchtime beer to celebrate reaching 900 miles and then did the last 60 km in the afternoon with the sun on our backs. (the first dry day) jess is in a bad way after the mosquitos in the woods, but other than that weee all good and the bikes too. 980 was the total milage, so please give us some more money. http://justgiving.com/brumtoberlin

Damn, wish I had known, I was in Bremen yesterday.
You'd only need a spare tube or two mate.
