  • I have that exact chair from the same retailer and have used it as a WFH office chair for the last 12 months.
it's pretty decent and one of the better copies out there imo.
    the arms are removable.
I put one in my basket and put my email and shipping details in but didn't buy straight away, then received an offer of free shipping a short while later (was £50)

    ::edit::
the base on mine looks slightly different to the one pictured. mine appears to be cast aluminium with a sort of brushed finish. perhaps they have changed supplier?

  • I have one of these in hopsack and I get on with it well, fixed feet and arms

  • Nice. Thanks for the tips. wondering if "leatherette" is a bad choice....

  • Talk to @coppiThat, he may still have connections in the used office furniture game... He got me my Humanscale, I brought it to Oz and my back is still very much enjoying it!

  • Ooh. Will do. Been down a Group Chair rabbit hole today.

Of course I could just ask this guy to fix my old chair.

  • hah! I might send my broken aeron to this guy. the gas cylinder died and it's stuck fast in the base.
I have actually tried whacking it with a mallet but maybe I didn't get rage enough on its punk ass.

  • I'm struggling to find a kitchen table I like. I think at the moment the best option has been to buy a plykea countertop faced with fenix and some metal legs which is about £900. If I had unlimited money I'd buy an extending Arne Jacobsen laminate one. Any ideas?

  • Now listed in the classifieds.

  • I like our table, follows a super cheap version of what you describe.
We bought a Melltorp underframe and a 25mm Baltic Birch top that I finished with milk paint, varnish and clear coats

  • Hey @mustardbeak that is lovely thing. I'd take it off your hands but I have no idea where we'd put it either. Any news on the moving date btw?

  • On the office chair; I've put cheeky offers on a couple of proper ICF Eames group chairs. Fingers crossed. And thanks again to @Dogtemple for hipping me to the ICF thing.

  • Yeah, bit gutted to get rid TBH but it won't go in the house, one of the downsides of moving from a massive open plan flat to a small terrace house.

I reckon we are a 2-3 weeks from exchanging, so hopefully moving around first week of August.

  • Dredge!

IIRC that’s a copy of an Eames 217.

They’re actually a good buy used. They don’t lose value so long as they’re not repaired.

  • That’s awesome. Glad to have imparted some knowledge. Look forward to see what you get.

  • Lovely!
Unfortunately it's difficult getting any decent G-Plan stuff 'ere in Germany.
You can't just put it against a wall instead of using as a divider? It'ld hurt me to have to sell that!

  • That's how we've currently used it, we have some other bits we really want to keep, and as a result this definitely won't fit unfortunately.

  • Christ, that picture pretty much sums up why we need to sell our flat and move to a house, we've reached peak stuff.

My Woods Ware collecting has got seriously out of hand.

  • I've also got a pair of these if there is any interest. They are a copy of the Harry Bertoia Knoll Wire Bar Stool. I'd like £100 for the pair.

We've covered them with a slightly more appropriate fabric, the fabric underneath is a deep purple.

  • continuing the theme of chairs on garden tables too which is fun...

  • Like that, can the vertical side panels be detached for transport or is it glued?

  • I was looking at it earlier trying to see if it would come apart, but I think the middle section shelf is glued unfortunately

  • That’s awesome, nice choice. My office chair is the same as that just with a higher back. Used nearly everyday for work. They’re just so much better than a copy, hope you enjoy it.

  • Cheers dude!

  • really nice. looks in great condition as well.
