  • once again thanks Rosie for the route to Maldon, I enjoyed it very much.

  • Ah very good! One of my favourites. I recommend the Blue Boor Inn on the high st for a pit stop.

  • Oh, meant to say - I pinched your Golding Hop / Plaxtol route over the last weekend. Nice spin, thanks for posting it up.

  • Ooo did you have the house rough?

  • Also! I've got Monday off work so not doing an afterworker then but I am proposing an afterworker special to the Fountain Inn in Cowden on Thursday 31 May. Route tbc, think it's about 70-75 miles there and back. Will be slow as I've pretty much given up cycling.

  • ^steal my route from the other night (that's half your route anyway) but come in up star! is lovely!

  • Was thinking I might go out that way, I'm a bit bored of going out via Layhams etc.

  • I did have the house rough - would have been rude not to! Going back in a couple of weeks with a small group of workmates on our own Afterworkers style jaunt. I'll be stealing a lot of routes from you at this rate!

  • Nice one. Bring them to the Fountain on Thursday.

Also I know I said I disapprove of talking about non afterworker rides in this thread but I have a Monster planned for Sunday if anyone fancies joining. Need to map this afternoon but I think it's somewhere around the 200 mile mark. Will be doing it fixed, slowly and stubbornly.

  • can't do sunday or i might be tempted... why fixed? just cos you can?

  • I'm not really getting on with the road bike atm. Seem to get higher av speeds and less of a crippling sense of dissatisfaction on fixed. So instead of sorting out the problem I'm going to ignore it. Groupset's fucked anyway.

  • Where are you planning on doing this 200 mile epic Rosie?

  • Actually I changed my plans a bit (not based on wind direction, honest) and am now riding to my parents' house in Devon. Obviously this means if anyone does want to join me they'll need to not be at work on Monday and also be prepared for pay £30 or so for a train ticket back the next day, but I'm sure my parents wouldn't mind putting people up.

  • Almost exactly the same amount of climbing as two Mont Ventoux. Gosh.

  • 100 miles six hours on the bike and four sitting in the shade to avoid sun stroke today.

  • This isn't really going to plan. I've been lost in the new forest for about 2 hours. I'm either going feral or giving up and getting on the a35.

Bendix + tailwind = EPO, eat your heart out.

Good luck finding your way out!

  • The a35 is ace, it's going on my list of favourite a roads.

I am on my third puncture of the day yay! Eta parents about 11pm :l

  • the secret is end up on the a35 then cut back in to the new forest. not immediately obvious. Hope you're ok!

  • hope she's not still riding on 80 GI!

  • Go Rosie!

  • hope she's not still riding on 80 GI!

    Is she the new 6pt?

  • more stubborn.

Rosie is riding to Exeter; she should be well past Lyme Regis now?
