Cider one is well good.

A Gravesend pootle would be prefect for me. I'm in Seattle all next week with work, so won't be riding and will be eating very unhealthily.
In if dry.

Here's another which I did yesterday; it was meant to be to Chatham and back but I overslept and had to get the train back from Maidstone. This is an ace route, mainly because it's magnificently flat for the most part. Credit to spybot as I stole most of it off him.
It was so good I might try and sneak a variation on it in tomorrow evening. East Peckham and back or something. Hmmm.

Would anyone be up for a Wednesday ride? I might not be able to ride at the weekend so will try and force myself out.
Am thinking 50-60ish Kent miles, roughly
out to Sevenoaks and back in a loop. If people are up for it, let me know - I propose a meeting time of 7pm at Cadence, top of Annerly (is it open then? edit: yes). If no one can make it I'll head out earlier, but can be flexible on time if it means having acommitment devicebit of company.Hopefully bendixshambles doesn't mind me threadpoaching. I guess I could organise some afterworker spirit by never looking back and trying to drop everyone ;)

Cadence is open til 8 and Anerley only has one N. give it two one more time and I'll neg you

• #1607
(just bitter because I have to be somewhere boring Weds eve)
-
• #1608
I have to be in Devon Wednesday eve.
I just did a massively slow afterworker to Ingatestone. But I did get 7 QOMs or something stupid, so even though I'm really slow at least I am faster than the three other women on Strava in SE London.

Never realised it was Anerley. Woops. And you are in no position to neg with that combination of missing punctuation and erratic capitalisation...
(Emoticons count as punctuation :p)

was struggling in pub on the phone, sorry. when I realised the auto-correct and fat thumbs had butchered my intended statement I'd already clicked post, and editing is more trouble than it's worth on a small screen. sorry :(

Thanks Rosie for the routes.

My tonight might be cancelled, in which case I'm totally in.

I thought you all might like to know that my Kent afterworker went well. I dropped everyone whenever possible and didn't look back once. Also, NO WEE STOPS. Unfortunately I got lost and missed out on quite a lot of A-road so I was stuck on these bumbling lanes in the middle of a forest for ages. I hope everyone else enjoyed it, though.

On a more serious note, it was actually the quietest and bestest ride I've done for a while. Not a single instance of dickmove driving either which made me incredibly happy. Even the roll back through Eltham and Sidcup was enjoyable.

Thanks for these routes Rosie - am thinking of poaching a couple and try and revive ladies rides. Or at least get some miles in myself.
If you haven't got a fancy Garmin type device though, what do people recommend?
I was thinking trying to plot the above routes onto some iphone friendly format like Bikemap or doing a turn guide or good old fashioned maps?

• #1616
trails on the iphone is usable

I don't have a Garmin that I can use (yet). I do turn guides (pre-Streetviewing turns that look like they might be easy to miss). This is why all afterworker routes are relatively simple.
I have more routes to go up but they need tidying; will try to post later today.

NO WEE STOPS
Sounds like you were dehydrated. You should drink more water.

• #1619
Can anyone remember where the 'no wee stops' post appeared on this forum? I've tried to dig it out a few times with no success.

a lightbulb went off in my head while posting that...

I've been hibernating all spring. Feel like I haven't been near a bike for weeks. Keen to try and sort something out for Monday 21st May, maybe Gravesend (avoiding dual carriageways). Anyone keen?
Out from this, if it's still on the cards. You'll all be quicker up hills as a result.

Yeah, I got a bit broken in the North Sea this weekend, so will be going home to weep quietly and tend to my sunburn instead of riding. Maybe later this week.
Have some routes:
Cider with Rosie
. Whitehapel to a lovely pub serving extremely strong cider in Plaxtol near Sevenoaks. Route only covers one way, which is 31.9miles. 1900ft
Four Elms, Seven Oaks
. Whitechapel down to almost Tonbridge and back up to lambeth (think the route stops at south beers). 62.3 miles, 4480ft ele
Hoo's Next
. Whitechapel to the Hoo Peninsula. Route out could be better, but the destination's good. Goes back to Lambeth. 65.5 miles, 3142 ft ele
London to Maldon.
One of my favourites because it's super flat but still has swoopy lanes. This route is one way from Whitechapel, 46.4 miles, 1768 ft ele
Surrey A roads
: almost my old commute, but abbreviated to fit both ways in under 60 miles. Not that fun when it's busy, ace when the roads are quiet. Whitechapel back to Lambeth, 56 miles, 2237 ft ele
Sarfend:
Southend, a shorter version than the forum route. 44 miles one way from Whitechapel. 1535 ft ele. I might do this tomorrow, but at about 4mph because my knees are fucked.
I have more but I should really do some work so that will have to do for now.
