  • Oliver :I

  • Is anyone Garmining this? I've tweaked it a bit doing the route directions.

  • I have suddenly become free this evening so keen to come along - I think the home made cider has swung it for me!

But... I need to go home first to get a better bike.

What time do you reckon you'd be going through Orpington Rosie? The point where the route crosses the A232 (about 15 miles into the route) is about 15 miles from mine. I should be able to leave mine very soon after 6 so I guess I'd roughly be there when you guys would be arriving?

I'd also be able to garmin the route (from that point and until we get to the A232 on the way back)

  • i'll meet you at the junction of the a2212 and a205.

    18:30?

  • joe - am ill and even slower than usual so might be late but yes that's fine. Aim for the Baring Rd end (i.e. where we'll turn left). Tim - I dunno but my route tweak now goes past Petts Wood station so could meet you there? I have to dash into this board meeting now so won't be able to post again before about 5 to 6... smiff has my number if you need it

  • Hey Rosie - no can do tonight I'm afraid but hoping to be in for Monday. If you're able to post a route by some time Sunday afternoon, then I'll also be able to Garmin it up. Have fun kids.

  • Petts Wood is good (is a bit closer in fact). I'll PM you my number in case of emergencies - will be there probably about 1915 traffic permitting.

  • ^^ boooooooo

  • I'm assume you guys will be coming in from the west side of the station (if you're coming from CP way) so that's the side I'll be waiting.

  • speed revised garmin route for the way out if it's not too late: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/945467

  • Got that, will glue on the return leg from the route on the previous page

looks like i'm not gonna have time to get road bike so will probably be doing this fixed... you might have to wait for me on a few descents.

  • I feel positively rejuvenated. I think the a21 and some 7.3% cider was just what I needed.

thanks for coming everyone! and thanks to Tim for captaining.

  • Nice to be home and not freezing! Really enjoyed that, particularly the super cider - what was it called again, something rough?

    Cheers all

  • House rough :D

  • Clue was in the name, I guess....

  • That was an awesome pint of cider. If there hadn't been another 30 miles to ride, I'd have had some more of that.

First decent ride I've done since November (which is why my sit bones are now complaining). Cheers, all.

  • I don't think I'm going to be able to do Monday... Think it's going to be another late one at work. Suspect I might be down to one a week for the next couple of months too. Will try to put a bit more effort into recce-ing routes at the weekends though (she says having not got out of bed yet)

  • Still keen for a jaunt tomorrow if anyone else is keen, as I believe is the boy upstart.

Threw this together in Garmin Connect, but had forgotten how A-Road heavy that part of the world is. If anyone has alternative suggestions, they will almost certainly be better. If not, Tim and I will just go and play with the traffic.

  • Alternatively, there's this:

I tried to take 10 miles off one of Rosie's routes a couple of weeks back and ended up going a little bit off road, and up Sundridge Hill, but otherwise had fun. This route tries to rectify a couple of those errors.

  • Yep, definitely up for some miles tomorrow, as long as we get to the C&H in time for burgers.

Will be on gears tomorrow sadly

  • should be on for some miles tomorrow

  • Have fun all. I can't do Thursday either; suspect I may be done with afterworkers for the foreseeable future, but glad they'll still be happening.

  • I'm doing the HotA course during the day if anyone's after slacker miles in the sun. If not, well, think of me while you're office-ing, yeah?
