  • yea, I am back on my flat bar bike. being on drop bars is too scary with all the peds throwing themselves
    into the streets.

  • Pavement cycling it is then!

  • You'll very likely to get a fine if you do.

  • yeah, just get off and jog. you will still have a few people crashing into you but they cant complain

  • so fine if you ride on the road
fine if you ride on the pavement
    whats left ?
maybe we should all buy ourselves private jets .... oh hang on isn't there an air exclusion zone over london

so the only options left are tunneling or water born transport

  • Hip Hop Slave Pedalos

  • The only option is to buy a Surly Moonlander and ride on top of the traffic.

  • Swimming down the Thames. Is that banned?

  • since recently yes.

  • The solution, Stealthy Go Karts........ you'll never be seen in an Olympic lane again...... Skillz!

  • or the frodo baggins's invisibility cloak

  • so the only options left are tunneling or water born transport

If you're planning on getting anywhere by canal it is a bit hopeless as well. There are major barriers near the olympic site, but even over in Little Venice they've put up barriers.

(These swans are not letting british waterways or LOCOG tell them where they can and cannot go!)

  • for swans read fixie skidders / lfgss members and canals ; olympic lanes

  • I think I'll pass on a swim there.

  • or the frodo baggins's invisibility cloak

    cough

It was a ring wot did it.

  • Definite aversion therapy being applied to drivers with OKR/New X light phasing back to normal tonight too.

A week of fuckery pre-lanes live to make people change their routes and timings

  • cough

It was a ring wot did it.
Harry Potter has a lot to answer for.

  • the whole OKR blocked for one miserable bit of archery / rifle shooting / horsey horsey stuff
i can imagine it arounbd the olympic park where there are hundreds of sports going on but south of the river silly

Archery is in Lords, over my way. I was thinking about looking at some qualifying rounds.

  • heat + Olympics is going to be ugly for the next couple of weeks.

31 degrees in London tomorrow, when the ORN kicks in:

There was a desert wind blowing that night.

It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch.

On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight.

Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands' necks.

Anything can happen. You can even get a full glass of beer at a cocktail lounge.

    Raymond Chandler.

The first day of it is open ticketed I believe...

  • The traffic from Bromley to Highgate this afternoon was insane. Way more cars, cyclists and pedestrians, and some shocking driving from the former. When the Zil Lanes go into effect in 6 hours, I anticipate gridlock. It just can't work, the streets are totally rammed as it is, far worse than I've ever seen them, and I've ridden that route for years.

  • cough

It was a ring wot did it.

wot an olympic ring ? i never knew they had the Olympics in The Shire

  • Good luck out there today people.
I almost got taken out by an Olympic beemer last night turning right from the left lane on a red light :(

  • well even though I am right in the heart of the action in Stratford and ride the main route between Central London and the Olympic site I had 400m of nice free olympic lane before it all just reverted to normal ? Where are the Olympic Lanes again ?

Not in Stratford thats for sure
    YAY
