  • Awesome, how did it go? Some of my FB friends in London seemed to be involved, looks great - I might be tempted next year.

  • I hit a wall at about 60 miles - bike fit problems I think, bad pain in my arms/shoulders/neck etc. Slogged it another 25-30 and then called it a day, got a train back to Norwich from Needham Market.

Lovely ride while I was enjoying it though. Bike fit (and maybe some gears) before next year (said that last year though).

We made good time, despite stopping regularly - set off about 9.40pm and got to Needham Market at 4.30am.

How did you guys get on for the rest of the ride?

  • We got there ok, Me and James hit the beach at about 6am, managed to bump into Ben a few miles from the end.

We rode the 40 mile journey home too.

Massive thanks to Sparky for guiding us round town, offering shelter from the rain and somewhere to have a pre ride meal, Sorry to Kirsty for gatecrashing her first weekend with Matt for a couple of weeks.

  • Glad you got back OK machineisbored, I honestly thought you were going to stay on that little grassy verge for the rest of the night.

Once we left you machineisbored I really got a second wind and dropped Mark & other chap (couldn't remember your name sorry) I got in around 650

My parents then turned up about 20 minutes later.

Sparky thanks ever so much for putting us up and letting us dry out from that tropical storm!

Oh and the Garmin was an absolute joy to use. We didn't look at the route sheet once!

  • Well done all. I'll be out to play next year.
Did you knee hold out then Spenceey?

  • Yes, I applied ibuprofen cream 3 times. Once at sparky's, then at the start and then once we stopped for food. It held out just fine. So happy as I think It's on the way to being 100% healed.

  • To be honest the verge was considerably more comfortable than the bench on Needham Market station. Still, I fell fast asleep, glad I had my wits about me enough to set an alarm otherwise I would have missed the train.

Who was the bike fit person you went to?

  • Awesome night. Bike was fucked from the start. Had loads of help to get it sorted. Still fucked! Lol.

Nice one guys. Thanks to Donny for trying to sort my bb. London Dom for the wheel loan. Sparky for the hospitality and of course Kirsty for enduring us talking about bikes whilst waiting for the DD start.

Good to sort of ride at some point with you guys: Gav, Norwich Dom, Dan, jim, Spencer and Ben.

Thanks to all who supported me and watched me die.

  • So are we going out to play this year?

  • Yurp

  • I was going to do the Dunwich Dynamo like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • ?

  • Double?

  • Double?

    Yikes.

  • The knee not the bum

  • Awesome, I'm looking forward to it again this year.

My knee problems have flared up again recently, probably due to new bike. Still getting used to the speed play floats, having done 100 miles in them already.

  • So another trip to the physio awaits, hopefully it'll be fixed this time.

  • Pre dunwich dynamo just wondering if anyone fancies our own 120 miles? Jubliee weekend perhaps? 4 days off, I'm sure we could make it as flat as possible and have a good time.

  • So who is planning on doing the Dynamo this year? I think I'm going to give it a go.

  • I am, with a mate from Norwich, and we're hoping to ride back there from the beach.

  • Not sure whether I will be doing the full thing or cheating and starting from Norwich this year. It will probably depend on the weather.

I will also be riding back to Norwich. The correct route this year.

The cheating method: Leave Norwich at 1am, ride 37 miles down the A140 until you see the trail of lights crossing the road, join the rest of the riders for 38 miles to Dunwich, sit on beach, ride 34 miles back to Norwich.

I am into this Ben. Am well unfit as all of my time has been spent on the BMX lately...

My arms, chest and back are fucking imensely strong, but my legs, stamina and will power is shit compared to last year. Saying that, I died a horrible death last year. Tehhehehehee.

  • I'm still doing this.

Meet 1am at the Forum if you're still in?

  • There's about five of us doing the whole thing who are also riding back to Norwich. We should try and hook up at the beach. My number is 07974 918855 if you haven't still got it.
