I got one of my investment type friends into these and now I think he has become a bit obsessed with them.

Like all the muppets here that spent 12 months losing their money trading on forex shit. Ill-informed gambling by any other name. They'd be better off paying me to slap them in the head whenever they loaded the trading app. I'd have saved them money.

Yep. This was the same friend who lost £600 on Sporting Index during one football match. I think he may have had a problem

The Bitcoin cash machines are rolling-out at the moment, and there's been a lot of media coverage of that. I would guess that this has just created a flurry of interest, first-time buyers, current holders looking to increase their stake...

Absolutely, I'd forgotten that one. Not a unique story by any means, I bet. You see those guys on localbitcoin agreeing to sell for cash-in-hand at quantities from £1,000 to £5,000...

I don't see why you'd be an idiot to buy bitcoin. I certainly don't think people are idiots for cashing out from large positions bought cheap. It's not going to rocket indefinitely, but there are plenty of reasons other than speculation for people to want bitcoin.

I have 2 bitcoins I forgot I had from ages ago. SHould I cash out or just sit tight? I know this is a stupid question but I dont know what to do!

Take out what you paid for them, then speculate on the rest? Then it won't cost you anything at all.

Don't buy bitcoins as an investment. Much like lottery millionaires surely there are winners, but that doesn't make it a sound investment.
