Apologies if this counts as spam but if anyone does want affordable 3D printing done here's my (contentless and very basic) website.

So, is the gallery going up soon? I'd love to see what sort of resolution you get one of the kit efforts...

Yeah it should be, I need to print a collection of things to photograph first (I've improved print quality since printing my first objects).
I'd say this is pretty much the quality I'm getting though (I printed this model and it looks almost identical).

Looks good although it's hard to tell what size it is (no scale etc). Are you going to be doing the finishing to take the ridges and imperfections off?
Here are some shots of the salt shaker i have on my desk... the HP printers resolution is ~0.25mm

The octopus has an approximate diameter of 85mm.
Do you have an .stl of the salt shaker? I could do a comparison print if that's allowed. The current resolution is around 0.4mm but that can go down to around 0.25 with some tweaks (increases print times though).

I can get the .stl....
The print time for one of those is 26 mins (approx)

Is that for both parts? Impressive if so, I'm pretty sure my machine will be slower than that.

Ed, when are you going to start making polo mallet heads.
I want one with a spiral shape cut out.
Or could you make a one piece mallet, entirely out of ABS (in 10cm lengths that screw together)
-

I can make you a cap now but it would cost you £10-£15, mallet caps/heads just aren't viable considering how cheap the rod/pipe is and how easy they are to machine.

yeah, I know, just wondering, you could do some cool stuff it would be tricky to do otherwise I guess...

Saying that if you want the most pimping mallet cap in London my rates are very reasonable ;)

reprap wiki is worth a read for those interested

Moog, can I order a reprap kit from you then?
-
• #46
In theory yes but I'm pretty sure the price I'll quote will be way higher than other people can do it for.
Let me know what parts you want and I'll get back to you.

• #47
Ah, I'd need everything, I probably need to do a bit more reading though.

• #48
Anybody planing on getting one?

Moog, could you print me a valve core remover that has key-ring attachment?
i.e. one of these:
As per the following technical diagram (two options shown):
Nice work, do the wheels function or are they a design stage ?
