Well obviously if you put a magnet on your stem then the front of your bike is always pointing magnetic north cos its attracted by the magnetic force.

A question about this - In descriptions for how to enter a track stand, I've read that you should have your 'dominant' or 'leading' leg forward with the cranks horizontal to the ground.
What is your dominant/leading leg?
I am right handed/right footed, but I think my leading leg is my left - I always keep my left foot in the clips and push off with it. I always set my right foot down.

You can use either, I use my left mostly, since pedal pressure will come from either foot. I turn the wheel to the right (up the road camber) so when my right is forward it's often in the way. Smaller feet probably don't have this issue.

On the track you should be able to use both feet since you won't always have the choice of when to stop and get trackstanding.

I learned on my road bike and always had a preference for left.
It was only really riding fixed I had to learn right foot forward too.
Loving the sound effect at 55secs, seems to look a lot more relaxed on the last stand at the end - practice and perfect?
