  • What's wrong with you?

  • Wish I was able to join you, I'm still in brain recovery and I've no idea when I'll be back on a bike :-(

Good to hear from you Tim!

  • What's wrong with you?

Crashed Charles Brompton on the 1st April and landed head first, 3 broken ribs and fractured skul and swelling/bleeding in my brain. I've been dealing with double vision all month and pretty bad headaches since although my sight seems to be returning to normal.
I'm staying down near Abergavenny at my parents while i'm a bit useless, I went to the Doctors yesterday morning and had a good chat with him and went for a for a wander into the town for a walk to see how I was getting on and fixing up

*sorry called to dinner by Mother dearest.

and the hectic life and noise of the metropolis of Abergavenny worryingly brought my double vision back in about 40min. I thought I'd be back to London today and back to work next week but I think that might me a little excessive :-(

One of the most annoying thing is I was just starting to do way more miles after a really lazy Dec,Jan+Feb period on the bike and my fitness started to return and my legs now are just wasting away.

All in all though I think I got of pretty lightly compared to what could have been the result.

  • Blimey! I didn't know about that Tim. I hope you are better soon.

Hope the bike is Ok ;0)

  • It has a very lightly scuffed saddle, I have no memory of the accident but I'm fairly sure my head then shoulder hit the tarmac followed lastly by the bike :-)

  • The Brompton jacket was cut to shreds that much I knew ;-) I wish you a swift and full recovery!

  • Looks like one best not to be able to remember. Take care and heal up soon Tim.

  • FUCK!

Bloody hell Tim. Heal up properly. Don't rush it etc etc.

  • Tim, so sorry to hear! Look after yourself. My mum had a bike accident in 1947 and fractured her skull (another cyclist crashed into her). There are great photos of my 17-year old mum recovering, black and white, moody, her sitting on her bed in a pretty dressing gown. Your photo is well scary.

  • Thanks for the well wishes folks, I've not really been on here to much as reading off the screen has been pretty hard with the double vision, but as that has cleared up now I hope I can come on a little bit more to have a natter as my day to day life down here is pretty boring as I've not got much to do.

  • You can have my login if you want to cause some real confusion.

  • If my brain goes back in to shut down like yesterday afternoon, I'll just settle into my own confusion.

  • Jesus wept, Tim. That sounds pretty horrific. Hope you heal quickly.

  • Hi Tim. Good to hear you're on the mend. Still can't believe the damage caused by such an innocuous looking crash, we were expecting you to just get up, dust yourself down and get back on the bike. I didn't actually see the fall but you must have landed in a very strange way. Take it easy dude.

  • Tim takes bed wetting to a whole new level ! ;0

glad you are on the mend. Had heard you had a spill but had no idea you were in such condition. Take it easy mate and do not try to do things too early.

  • Yowsa! Heal up fast Tim!

I'm up for rides. Now that I'm back from America and have finished TNAC (tues night antenatal club) I should have some time to get back on the bike. I hope!

  • All the best with a full and speedy recovery. One of my non-forum mates woke up in hospital with similar injuries and no memory of the crash or the 2 weeks before the crash. Crushing headaches and weird vision for a few weeks after that, but he's fine now. Complete recovery, aside from never regaining the lost memories, and he now descends like an old lady.

Enjoy the peace of Abergavenny and the pampering from your folks while you can :)

  • Fuck, Tim. Scary. And ouch. Heal soon and get right back on that bicycle...

  • Is the Brompton a bicycle?

  • The bike lives. Hooray!

  • Get well soon Tim, I didn't know about you fall
    the pict looks pretty scary

  • the pict looks pretty scary

After I saw it I thought furious tiles account in the hands of an alias.

I hope in a full and recharging recover.

  • Crap, Tim, I must have seen you just before the crash--I remember seeing you at the junction of New North Road and East Road that night. I went ahead but I had no idea there'd been a crash. Glad you're recovering, but that was a bad'un and no mistake.

  • Oliver I can remember very little of that Friday.
