You could have been there TS. Drunkenly heckling with Mrak and Bill. Festus and Corny were also partying hard, soaking up the 'culture'.
J'adore "le drunkenly heckling", c'est mon metier...

Absolutely awesome weekend. Also, shattered. Gutted Degen couldn't get off our asses and score one more goal in any of the four fucking draws we got (out of 7 games). We beat the second place French champs (who got third at the end of the weekend) and drew the German champs, but couldn't knock one more ball past a bunch of other teams. Sooooo frustrating. On the bright side it left me more time to get drunk and cheer/heckle, which is always fun. Well done to all London teams. Was awesome cheering you on and getting crunked with you to cheer on others. London Bike Polo Beach Party yesterday was nice, too. And thanks to Iain et al for letting Adrienne and I crash the last night when we were no longer welcome in our squat, and Prav and Julia for not killing our cats ;)
Also, if Latitude is anything to go by, looks like Chukker missed his flight.

Matt missed his flight? Great work.
LIkewise shattered, but so proud to be a London bike polo player. Gutted, like Mark, that we couldn't have turned at least one of those draws into a win. We had Bambule - we destroyed Hooks - Matt & Mark were awesome in that game. And that was after Bambule scored one of the best goals I have ever seen, hard pass from right to left, slammed in just inside the post.
Best game I saw was El Club against Cosmic, but there were a lot of good games.
LONDON!

Welcome back, sounded like lots of fun.
How did you all fare in the heat?
The courts looked shaded & cool from the photos, I imagine that helped an awful lot. What's the story with L'Equipe, what's their winning tactic / strategy / strength?
Am I right in thinking they dont even have a regular league to play in, in Switzerland? -

The story is they practice 4 times a week, mix team games in with throw ins (hence growing the standard across the board which helps keep pushing their own standard) and have been doing so for years. They're also fast, skilful, versatile, confident and calm.
Barcelona was pretty good.

It helps when you've got a cyborg on your team.

One of the courts was in the shade, but the other 2 were outdoors. I didn't have too much of a problem with the heat, but all of our games were in the morning, before the heat got too bad. I could see that some of the London guys were really struggling on the outside courts during the afternoons.

Talking of next year, was there any discussion of where that will be?
I'm guessing that Germany/France/Italy might be interested , any others?

Looks like Paris will bid for it. Maybe Munich as well?
I want to see the video of me beating Cam in a knife fight without even having to move.
Call Me Daddy vs El Club = best game. 1-4 down to win 5-4 was a victory for polo.

El Club beat Call Me Daddy 3-2. Hooks came back to beat El Club 5-4 in an epic (and very clean/impressive) game.
Munich and Paris are bidding for 2012 so far. Is now a bad time to tell Alejandro that he's in charge of the bidding process?
