Particularly skillful punishment pass today in Regent's Park. Such skill. So close. Wow danger. +5 points for being passed by me as you join a queue of cars.

Dear Driver of the 415 bus on E&C at about 8:30 this morning,
You found yourself in the left hand lane, having not moved into the middle lane earlier as you should have. Once at the front of the queue, with me and a group of fellow cyclists in the central lane to your right and a white van in the right hand lane, you began to indicate right and edge across. When the roundabout became clear, rather than waiting for us to go and moving in behind us, you decided to move into the space that we were already in, almost squashing us between the side of your shiny red bus and the van.
This is what makes you a cunt. Your indication does not give you right of way.
Regards,
Sid
P.S. Kudos to the white van man for realising what was going on and letting us all move right so we didn't get squished.

T-shirt and shorts and I'm boiling when I get to work. It's bonfire night FFS!

Please send that verbatim to TFL!

I really really tried to ride slower today. Partly cos of muggy weather / too much
clothes as usual. Comiserated with also overdressed female as she'd stopped to remove her scarf.Slow and easy ride in, mostly. Bit of racing on OKR because traffic.
Then a perfect drafting opportunity presented itself at the Waterloo roundabout, could not resist... duly passed all the people I was itching to race moments before.
In denial, would deny again 7/10

Seriously considering it.

Actually we've seen a steady decline since the clocks changed, until a big spike last Thursday which has stayed fairly constant

Most brazen right-hand turn RLJ by a car across my path today. Car was traveling south, turning westwards, I was traveling west to east. Car was stopped on stop line, light had been red for the car already for about 10 seconds, then car decides to accelerate and turn across the path of myself and 3 other cyclists, and the car behind us...
The kicker, 2 cops standing on the corner that decided to do naff all...

more cocking punctures than CO2 cannisters this morning. First time ever this has happenned. Had to ditch to an uber (who were actually very good).
Inspected tyre again in warm light office and still can't really find a culprit. GRRRRR

Checked your valve for tightness?

Noticed loads of people with flat or deflated looking tires today but still happily riding around. One bloke assured me it was fine as who rode off with the sounds of rims rolling away.

"Oh god my tyre is flat and I've forgotten my repair kit and my pump and everything. I'm nearly at work. I'll just grin and bear it. Let this be a lesson to me. Oh god now somebody is trying to talk to me about it. How can I get him to leave me alone. Please just leave me alone. I'm going to die from humiliation"

"I'm going to die from humiliation"
Pretty much how I felt this morning after sliding on a slick of half-rotted leaves and slumping into an ungraceful heap on the floor.
Mind yourselves out there.

In the car today, two cyclists were holding up traffic, but no honking or anything, everybody just moved into the right lane no bother.
Saved a colleague from a very, very long walk with puncture kit. Puncture repair lesson 101 given and link to basics ^_^

That sounds like useful advice again - this is your final warning.

I did, though it was dark and wet so might not have done the best job. I /loathe/ removable cores

Clocks going back is a ploy by the turbo industry so people drive worse so that you get too spooked to ride outdoors and do all your riding on a turbo, the clock change is actually sponsored by Tacx.

You're full of conspiracies aren't you!?
They couldn't put too many fixed riders in, component manufacturer pressure, it's so people aren't inspired to ride fixed and carry on buying the latest gear rather than tub rims from the 80s.
Wow, today was special.
1) Moped rider on my back wheel at Stockwell, gesturing for me to move into the cycle lane that disappeared under some roadworks in 20 yards. No.
2) Lake Geneva is back at the entrance to the Oval segregated lane. Such fun.
3) Left-turning bus sitting across the CS7 at the end of the segregated lane when the lights went green for the straight ahead traffic. As much of a design-flaw as bad driving.
4) Me doing a bit of really silly filtering up the left of a bus that had stopped at the lights at E&C. Note to self: don't filter up anywhere where you can't see the way out.
5) Lorry parked in the CS7 on Southwark Bridge Road.
6) HGV stopped fully in the cycle box on Southwark Bridge Road. Aw, he thinks he's a bicycle. Cute.
7) Left turning car fully in the cycle box at the junction of Southwark Bridge Road and Southwark Street.
8) Right-turning car gets caught up in a wave of peds when the green man comes on and he hasn't quite made his turn yet. Not sure whose fault this was, but it sure was fun to watch.
What is it about a bit of rain that turns people into idiots on the roads?
