Enraging few minutes this morning trying to free my bike from my cycle hangar thanks to my next door neighbour wedging their bar and brake lever around my stem. I have the space at one end so I had no wiggle room at all. If I was actually going to work I wouldn't really care about being a few minutes late but since I had a GP appointment first I was getting super irate. Turned around and noticed a guy was leaning on a wall and watching me with interest which quickly quietened me down out of embarrassment.

This one got me thinking so did a bit of research, genuinely didn't realise just how shitty using that word is before now!

I'm not expecting the driver to get fired but even if it makes him stop for a second to think about >how he acted then I achieved my goal.
I requested the CCTV footage from Arriva, I bet they don't reply as quickly!
CCTV accquired.. Cunt.

Want.
I don't think they make a tetramaran version, though.

On the left, turning left, scooter on the right behind sitting in the box, turning left = angry close pass
Left of the filter lane, turning right, same scooter on the right, turning right = predicted residual perceived grievance close pass
Take the short cut, pop out way in front, get the drink out and when scooter arrives gesture as if at the bar 'and where have you been all this time?' = acceptable pass.
He just needed three goes. -

farking hell.
the highway code needs updating to expressly forbid overtaking any road user if you are planning to turn or pull over within 200yds

and what have they said about the driver's behaviour?
probably smidsy?

When I confronted him at the time at the next bus stop he was very angry that I dared to question his choice to overtake like that. He gesticulated "big fish" with his hands and told me he "gave me LOADS of room"..
No way he didn't see me. See attached..

That's some poor driving, for sure.

Far far worse driving goes on everyday, I just knew how to use GDPR rules to my advantage.
We should all use easy access to CCTV footage to highlight poor driving though. If it makes one driver stop and think then it's worth it.

Nothing groundbreaking, if you're in CCTV footage then you can request it and they have to provide it: https://www.gov.uk/data-protection-your-business/using-cctv
I just emailed the bus operator and made a subject access request. They sent me a zip file of the video files within a couple of weeks. Had to send them photo ID via email.
When can CCTV images be disclosed?
You have the right to see CCTV images of you and to ask for a copy of them. The organisation must provide them within 30 calendar days. This is called a Subject Access Request. You will need to provide details to help the operator to establish your identity as the person in the pictures, and to help them find the images on their system.
CCTV operators are not allowed to disclose images of identifiable people to the media - or to put them on the internet - for entertainment. Images released to the media to help identify a person are usually disclosed by the police.
An organisation may need to disclose CCTV images for legal reasons - for example, crime detection. Once they have given the images to another organisation, then that organisation must adhere to the Data Protection Act in their handling of the images.
Public authorities are subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000, or the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2000. This Act allows members of the public to request official information by writing to the public authority, who must respond within 20 working days. If the images are those of the person making the request, then the request would be handled under the Data Protection Act as a Subject Access Request. If, however, other people are identifiable in the CCTV pictures, then the images would be considered personal information and it is likely they would be exempt from the Freedom of Information Act.

Fucking selfish cyclist - he didn’t kill you so that makes it ok!

Good. Glad to hear it and hope you won't use it in future. :)

(Genuine) thumbs up.
Try not to conflate anger with mental health problems next time, too ;-)

Wasn't even mental health day yesterday so my comments were not only offensive but inaccurate.
Must try harder -

Really stressful ride home. Full house of left hooks, choppers and life flashing before eyes moment as I thought a small kid riding home from school was about to get taken out by a tool in a brash Audi. Need a drink!

So many people cycling the wrong way down the new bike paths on Lea Bridge road. The bits that are finished that is.
Tonight I was told that "in England we drive on the left" as a man attempted to cycle against commuter traffic.

Nice spin up a quiet cs7 this morning mainly as a result of some twat in a golf absolutely destroying the lights at Tooting Broadway and closing the road northbound.
Should really get a camera. Three near misses because of "blind spots" where the entire separate bike path is the blind spot. Fucking morning commutes.
