    A great British company indeed.

  • A great British employer indeed...

  • light bulbs illuminate. you're... well.

once again, embarrassed to be from belfast.

  • Is it the accent, usually?

  • Commuted fixed for the first time in ages (mudguards have me spoiled - only ride without them in the dry now) with new supa rad riser set up
Sketchy as fuck on the way in, then coke can shim started to stop working on the way back. Really fun though, nice to be back on it!

  • I managed to stop in time to prevent flattening a guy this morning - he walked into my rear wheel

I'm having trouble /picturing understanding this...

  • it's on the list, but it's far down it. besides, this whole thing has me reaching for 'scundered', which only someone from belfast would understand.

  • Just a follow-up, now everyone's getting over the bang-gate incident...

Turns out a spoke snapped at the hub end, clean snap just after the curve. Maybe the wheel is salvageable. Maybe I should just dump them and go even more minus-money with the bank for a new set.

  • You think he should take a redner? ;)

Anyway, hi, I'm in Belfast too. I'm from Amsterdamland though ;)

  • Unless rim is damaged should be fixable.

Or get a used lonely front wheel if you can't fix it yourself (always takes a bit of time...)

  • yup....had my first real truing and managed to get it acceptable even with the spoke missing. It's an old 36h mavic, pretty sure it's okay at low speeds until I can get to the bike shop. Taking the basic toolkit to help a mate tomorrow anyway.

Keen to get new wheels soon. Haven't seen any v-sprint in the wild, but they are only beaten on price by the most entry level shimano/fulcrum wheelsets....

  • of the LFGSSS PC community.

Anyone who insist on saying political correctness is very likely to be a bigot.

  • Bigot. I dislike this word - it has lost all meaning and now just means 'person with whom I disagree'

  • I have to cycle from the West End to the Excel Centre (spits) for 4pm today. Any recommendations for a route that isn't hellish?

  • CS3, and turn right onto prince regent lane

  • Toes and fingers slightly numb, felt like the cold slowed me down too, but otherwise I quite enjoyed the sharp dry cold commute this morning

  • @fizzy.bleach
Do you want a quiet route or main roads? Both are not too hellish in the middle of the afternoon. You only really have two options to get over the Lea, both have cycle paths on the pavement, do not recommend using the road on either*. Lower Lea crossing connects more directly to both Excel and the CS something, but has more debris on the path. The other one goes from East India Dock Rd over to Canning Town so is direct if you're on the main roads, and is clean, you just have to cross to southbound when you get to Canning Town, I usually use the pavement crossing to the station and across.

    * I mean for the actual flyover/crossing bit, not the whole way...

  • Bigot. I dislike this word - it has lost all meaning and now just means 'person with whom I disagree'

Yup, anyone throwing around accusations of bigotry probably doesn't fancy having a proper discussion. Also see "reactionary", "misogynist", "racist", "hypocrite".

  • All going tickety boo until a scooterist and pillion shot out from a left into the traffic at suicidal speeds, carved through the traffic disappearing around another bend within 2 to 3 seconds. Then the poor screaming woman appeared whose handbag the bastards had taken. What can you do?

  • Isaw two people in shorts with bare legs this morning. wtf. it was -3 degrees when i left my house, do they not feel the cold?

  • ^ Agree that calling people bigots rarely solves anything, but I think Ed's general point is correct. If you ever see a FB post starting with "This isn't PC but..." it is almost always followed by ignorance.

People who see the world as too PC never seem to consider that perhaps the offence they're causing is actually due to them acting like a dick, rather than because they're being persecuted by a nannyish society.

  • waved my d-lock in the face of some hugo boss soaked, superdry wearing fuckstain in a mini outside the british museum. felt his passenger side RVM brush my keys as he passed. on his phone, obvs.

  • Lights stolen from bike last night. dark/10
