To update those of you waiting on bags and saddlebags...
I'm in my new flat in Leicester now, but still have to redesign and then build a new workshop before I can sew again.
I've still got my children here until Jan 2nd, then I'll be straight onto clearing the attic ready to turn it into my Bagcave. This will take a little while, but it will be the only thing I'm working on so I will be going as fast as I can.I'm sorry for the further excessive delays, and if anybody should want to cancel an order I understand and will try my best to refund money asap.
All the best!

Another update just to let people know that I'm not just sitting on my arse here doing nothing...I am trying my best to get back sewing again.
I've finally been able to clear the attic in the new flat.
I had to move 28 bikes in boxes down the stairs, and round several annoyingly tight corners...and these were heavy bikes. Then moved boxes and boxes of tyres, saddles, cages etc. Removed hundreds of screws, nails, wall brackets, shelves, random timber constructions. etc, etc
This is basically where I am now.
There have been further delays waiting for somebody to come and check the old boiler to make sure it's safe to remove...and as you can see, the skylight is fucked and been leaking.
I just had the all clear to remove the boiler, and the roofer will be taking out the old skylight and fitting a new Velux...but unfortunately not for 3-4 weeks.
In the meantime though I will be decorating as much as I can do, and will hopefully still be able to go ahead with the design and construction of all the new tables and benches. It's been a really stressful few weeks since moving here as all my stuff is spread all over the kitchen as I needed the spare bedroom for my dad's stock. My sewing machines are still down in the bike shop as I have nowhere to put them where they wont hinder further progression of the new bagcave.
I'm hoping to have everything ready for when the new Velux goes in so that I can then just finish that side of the workshop and finally start sewing again.
I sincerely apologize for the huge delays this move has caused. I'm just hoping it will be worth it in the long run and I haven't made a bigger mistake by moving. :[

Oh...and even just trying to figure out a way to fit a cutting/layout table, two sewing machine tables, and other work areas....plus my exercise equipment into a space as awkward as this has been a total ballache....I'm now kind of making it up as I go along. :]

Greetings Scott,
I hope all goes well for you in Leicester....
Bumping in to you and riding together for a few miles through Essex on the Dunwich Dynamo is up there as one of my top bike moments for 2011.
If you ever do anything in anything other than black, give me a shout.
Peace and Love,
Tim -

Hey Tim...
Our 'moment' on the way to Dunwich was a highlight for me too...Hope to see you again on this years?
Black is the new red, gold, and green Rastafari. ;] -

On the bright side, I did manage to get the bedroom/studio pretty much finished. This was the first priority as there were over 3OOO records spread all over the whole flat otherwise which kind of hindered everything else. :]

Hi Scott,
Yes, unless JAH Shaka sound plays on same weekend, I will be there.
Started upping the miles already on daily commute in anticipation.
Nice looking records ^^^^^. I hope the Chas 'n' Dave section has pride of place.
Peace, Love and Gertcha,
Tim -

Sounds stressful.
But just to get an idea of time frame, because I"m going travelling soon. No saddle bags for about another 2 months?

I hope the Chas 'n' Dave section has pride of place.
Peace, Love and Gertcha,
TimI now haven't got the slightest idea where ANY particular record is...they got completely mixed up in the move. :[

Hopefully less than 2 months Wicksie...I'm hoping nearer 1 month.

Sweet, should still be here. :)
Good luck with it all. Make sure you show us when it's finished!

Hey Scott, had no idea you were moving away. What's left of Grobags towers? Hope it all works out for you in your new place! (PM'd you too)

Funny you mentioned Watson. ....from my facebook yesterday! ;]
How in the hell does a Basset hound go from being in my back yard, to suddenly being in the neighbour's back yard, when there is a wall all the way around, and a closed gate?
My staircase goes up to my flat and at the top is next to my neighbours door, but it's completely blocked by a metal railing with tiny gaps between and below.
The only possible answer is that he slipped out the side of the stairs and fell over their wall to the ground 5ft below...or climbed out the side of the stairs onto their shed roof, slid down it, then jumped or fell 6ft to the ground.
There are no visible signs of either?
BIZARRE!I knew it was a mistake to watch that Bond film with him!
I've just been and looked again...I really can't get my head around it? His legs are only about six inches long! He's not exactly built for parkour. I'm gonna keep an eye on him though cos he's acting a bit strange now. I think he's given himself a scare, so hopefully now he'll withdraw his application to the stunt dogs guild.

Scott, when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. ;)

Sadly not a "I'm back working again" update yet, but just to keep people informed.
The workshop is finally moving along now. The new skylight was fitted on Friday and just needs the rotten panelling replacing around it...In the meantime I've been painting the other walls, and should have them and the floor finished this week. Once all the painting is done I can finally get onto building the workbenches!I'm really eager to get back to work and feel really bad about the huge amount of time this has added to the few outstanding orders....I never envisaged it taking this long to get up and running again.
On another note...I have been using the time to sort out some ordering, and have now finally been able to get some mini labels made. They are only 1" x 1.25", and I have a thousand of them on the way, which means I can now have branding on the front of the bag straps as well as on smaller items like the new belts and forthcoming key clips, radio holders etc
I have been trying to get things as ready as possible so that I can crack on as soon as the workshop is done. The quicker I can get the outstanding orders out of the way, the quicker I can get onto designing the rest of the range.
Thanks again for everybody's patience...it means a lot.
Scott

are they sparklez?
-
• #797
Ha...No, I think that's just how they look really close up. :]
They better not be anyway...I don't do glitter! -
• #798
Thanks for the update, Scott, and It sounds like you're keeping quite busy.
I'm an impatient bastard, but good things are worth waiting for.
-
• #799
Sorry D...I feel really bad. :[
The good thing is that the bags will have had some slight changes in materials here and there from when you saw mine...it will have reduced the weight slightly and hopefully added some suppleness. They won't really look any different though....still just as badass! :]
-
• #800
You had me at suppleness...
Honestly, no worries. I'm still rocking the Grobag and I'll be excited to see the BRP when it comes. And now with sparkly logos! ;^)
True enough it's not one of the next gen BRP bags.
This was made in the gap between the two companies as far as I remember - hence the lack of logos/tags.
Bodieanddoyle hasn't been back in touch so my saddlebag's on offer - £45 to anyone willing to collect/meet in central London or SW16
