  • Awww thanks blushes furiously I just didn't want to hold everyone else back. Plus I think sumo was on the receiving end of most of my fuss, so the rest of you were saved. And yes dropout you were such a star, as were you OLC, thank you so much!

  • great photo. Who's bike is that on the right in the foreground? Filthy bartape.

  • Great picture, great day.

Thanks alot Skive - was great to meet you and everyone else!

  • ^you too eamesy :) see you on the roads/pubs of london

^^i'm gonna guess jim? and anyway if just looks like the owner actually rides. clean white bar tape says poser or very new bike

  • scoot - no worries. i tried to do a bit of riding through the group from front to back and back to front and help close gaps. and just to talk to people can distract them when they're feeling empty. but i'll be honest when it comes to hills i have to go at my pace. i'm not strong enough to keep company at the back, i'd ruin myself!

  • ^^i'm gonna guess jim? and anyway if just looks like the owner actually rides.** clean white bar tape says poser or very new bike**

come to think of it, all you have to do is remember to take your mitts off whenever you do anything mechanical and it'll stay clean. this is more than i ever managed when i had yellow bartape on a previous bike

  • Great ride by all.

skive for organising and leading the group, dropout for the support and for being a beast and dan (don't know your forum name) for stacking it in front of me on a perfectly flat, smooth road. Much laughing ensued.

  • Did not happen.

  • Dan, you're the new chainbreaker. fact!

  • I rode to Horley earlier in the day using this route. What time did you get to Brighton?

  • Dan, you're the new chainbreaker. fact!

    I deny everything.

  • what an awesome day yesterday.
good weather, good hills, good people.
thanks to you all for coming it was a really good group.

special props to john for managing to find us in the first place, sheparding the back, relaying information and then storming the ditchling.

well done to all those who had never ridden either this far or just ever!
the brighton ride is a challenge so don't forget that.

    catch you all soon.

Does John have a new bike? Is the world about to end?

Tell me that that is someone else's bike. :)

  • cheers all for an excellent ride - my first with lfgss and certainly not my last!

see you soon somewhere in London

  • that's stonehedge's bike mr schick

you can tell because it's in its natural state of not being upright.

  • I was confused by them apparently using the same cleats.

  • That bar tape looks pretty clean to me. It's does highlight a criminal waste of droppage though.

  • FFS...I didn't crash...it was a trick!

  • FFS...I didn't crash that much...that was a trick!
    ...

  • I was confused by them apparently using the same cleats.

    bloody roadies.

  • On the subject of crashing. Who wants to own up for mounting the pavement, hopping off it and then crashing into the back of me at lights?

  • bloody roadies.

    Roadies but goodies.

  • ^^I bet it was sumo. he's one of them young whippersnappers who always flouts the highway code.

  • Seriously, thanks to everybody for yesterday. My first forum ride was a stonker.

  • Defo up for going next weekend if anyone else who missed out fancies it?

    possibly...
