Shame, I was quite excited about the LHBPA's first power tool.

I did some reading and the battery ones are meant to be pretty lame (what I was considering buying today). 2-stroke means you've got a heavier/larger unit and it's not exactly eco-friendly.
If people want one, we can vote at the next meeting, it just didn't seem like there was general agreement, etc.
We'll have 4 brushes tomorrow, many hands and all that...

Can people bring adjustable spanners, we'll need them to put the goals together.
-
• #283
I'll have one.
Srsly, btw. If someone could print that stuff it would be awesome. I don't have paper. And a lot of you are probably at work.

Mrak, I can print those. Do you want an A3 version too?
Do you have something for the refs to use for scorekeeping? I'm sure someone had a nice template for that - maybe for the league??
Could we do a prize for top goalscorer? Every player puts in £1 and the top scorers wins forty two quids worth of 1664?

Iain, that would be great, thanks. Bring some blank paper if you can, as well, please.
As far as refs, I assumed they would just use blank paper. But if there is something, and you want to print a hundred or so copies, go for it.

I've printed most things out already (rules and format - A4) and have clipboards, pens, paper, etc.
Sorry, should've said, save the trees.
If people could bring hacksaws and files for axels too please.

Anything interesting in the Barca rules we should be aware of?

Cough.
Summary of the rules that are different to London's current "norm" (mostly to fall in line with NAH rules):
[]Axles must be chopped down.
[]Teams must wear matching colours.
[]Maximum mallet head is 180mm in length and 65mm in diameter.
[]The goal line must be marked (we need chalk).
[]No left-on-right jousting (right-on-right is the norm, unless both agree a left-on-left).
[]Time stops between goals/on the whistle.
[]No wrist shots.
[]Nearly all time-outs/balls out of play/foul calls require each team to return to their half and wait for the team that's awarded the ball to cross over (time then resumes).
[]No playing the ball with your feet.
[]If goals are moved, use the floor markings as reference for calling goals (or not), not the displaced goal.
[]Shoulders yes, elbows no.
[]No throwing rear wheels into bikes.
[]Hooks not hacks.
[]Checking along the boards is allowed (because of the fence at Newt, any reckless checks will result in a penalty... we should probably avoid checking overly aggressively because of the fencing?).
[]Thrown mallet = 30 second penalty.
[]Turnover the ball to the other team if you call a time-out (time-out punishment), unless it was a mechanical time-out due to an infraction caused by the other team.
[*]Retreat to halfway if ball out of play, team that didn't hit it get possession in their half (deflections don't count).I've just relaised Alej's 10.5 and 11.5.2.2 conflict, so not sure about this.11.5.2.2 deleted -

The ball going out stuff. What does this mean for behind the goal play at Newt? Do we have boards to block off the goals?
-
• #297
No, unless someone can organise some?
If the ball goes behind the goals I think the goal ref should get it back in where it rolled out, it'll be too common otherwise and slow things down no end.
Any other thoughts? Balls out should be classified as over the fence, or flying out of the sides at the open ends of the court in my opinion?
Normally there are spectators in each end, ready to feed it back in, and the netted goals might help things, etc?

can someone bring a bag of zipties, for fixing the nets. We might need to do some repairs.

I'm fine with that. Just needs to be clear. This does mean one side will have more turn overs than the other. I imagine that, ultimately, it's not that big of a deal, though.

I could bring a couple (or 4) of LHBPA boards down tonight either dump them at newt or bring them to someone?
What ime are we planning on starting?
