Any FS7 owner ops (seem to be asking this question every month based on the last page!) around on the 20th of this month in London?
Might just buy a second-hand body and have done with.

Also, any audio engineer sorts here? Who could do a decent mix of a few talking heads from different sources and some music? Simple but want it done well. Ideally tomorrow or Fri. Remote.

Filipe Pinheiro is superb. Worked with him on features, commercials, corporates and he smashes it every time.

Not a Fs7 owner but I'm a Fs700/7Q owner if that fits the bill.

Same thing again then.

Until very recently I was! I’m freelancing at the moment so doing bits here and there. When film work comes in it usually means a solid 6-8 months in one place though.

Does the company you work for only do audio post or does it cover more aspects of post production?
-
• #90
We do full post, I’m in the sound dept and we have grading / vfx and graphics in house.

Anyone know anything about PSE tests/harding etc?
Just had a super fast turnaround project fail PSE on upload to broadcaster and it needs to be delivered to them today.
It's a 30 second animation and the scenes are bright blocks of colour cutting/swiping from one to the other.
I'm hoping it's just some luminance brightness issues that can be resolved at a push of a button but if it's some re-animation I guess we're kinda fucked. It past QC on Honeycomb but Clearcast is flagging the PSE.
I can PM a link to anyone with brains.

been out the post production game for a few years but may have to be back in London soon, is every one using Adobe prem now or is Avid still king. I need to get my head round file delivery. I kind of miss it but not the shitty Clients, some were amazing others not so much.
-
• #96
Avid is still king.
But Adobe is everywhere because it's cheap. -

I work almost exclusively in online content - mini docs, brand films, event coverage etc. I'm using Premiere. But I've used the Adobe suite since I cut BMX videos with a cracked version as a spotty teen.
Out of the people I know they are largely using Premiere, some using Final Cut Pro. It depends largely on where the finished product is going. I think Avid is still the preserve of television/ film work. However I know Adobe are trying to shoehorn there way into large scale feature film post houses.
-
• #98
Almost exclusively AVID here in broadcast. I’m yet to be forced to learn Premiere.
-
• #99
Premiere is definitely creeping into film, especially lower budget productions. Wouldn’t say it’s the norm though.

It's pretty painless tbh, the level to which you can customise your workspace and keyboard layout is probably the best thing about premiere, I was thrown on a job about 4 years ago without ever using it before, I just spent an hour mirroring my Avid set up and was cutting without problem. I work in short form (50/50 TVC's and web only ads) and most agencies I work with use adobe CC. If you work on longer form which requires multi editor and shared project environments I wouldn't worry about having to use premiere anytime soon as it's complete dog shit for that.
Urgently looking for two trainee sparks and a focus puller for a self-funded 16mm short film this weekend in south London. Expenses paid.
If anyone is interested or has some contacts who might, please shout!
