T-shirt on back to front.
It's a new thing amongst couriers. You have to be hip to wear The Hip.

Nice look, Will. Hipster thread

Out of curiosity...Am I right in thinking It uses a strip of velcro to secure it round your waist right? Which you have to undo every time you take the lock off? And the sleeve with the velcro on is permanently secured to the chain with a rivet?
-
• #258
As far as I remember, yes.
-
• #259
So what happens when the velcro loses it's stick..which it will, as ALL velcro does.
If they hadn't secured the sleeve with a rivet then you could have just bought a replacement sleeve.Just thinking aloud.

Proper hipster will re-sell it on LFGSS before velcro looses its properties. Next year it will so... last year's?
ps. or you could just buy the sleeve and buckle for any other chain around (potentially stronger).

Hang on a second, EEI, that sounds like a great idea!
Does anyone actually make an after market sleeve for chainlocks? You could basically blag the whole design off the hiplok, and make something with all of the convenience of the hiplok, but cheaper to purchase, cheaper to manufacture, and without the low solid secure rating.
Scott - you can knock them up, EEI you can take some photos, I'll sell them, and this time next year...etc...etc... :)
runs to ipo website to get the patent in

I used to make my 'Lock sausage' sleeves a few years ago...I still have mine on my fahg chain.

“The world’s first bike lock specifically designed to be worn on the body” (their emphasis). Basically it is a bike lock chain in a machine washable sleeve that you can fasten around your body
I don't think even hipsters will be machine washing a sleeve you can't remove from the chain?

Sorted!^^^

Cool.
EEI, when can you photograph these things?
Scott, while I appreciate your sewing skills I think we'd turn a better profit if we got some children to make them. PM me the designs, all the technical know-how, and all your bank account details, and I'll do the rest.

The sleeve is removable; it is locked with an allen key fitting.

How much are they paying you, Will?
To tell people that the wheels and lock I have tested are not up to much? Not enough.
I am sure the eco-charity you work for and the hospice where you volunteer appreciate your stance though. -

Ew lock sausage.

It's because it's lined with the same stuff that sausage casing is made from dear Wicksie. It actually comes in a thicker form than it ends up once it leaves a sausage factory...has many uses in many industries.
Waterproof, but much lighter and cheaper than truck tarp. Little known fact there.^^^

I was reading this thread to figure out what lock to get on top of my krypto mini and cable when I'm in London but this has pissed me right off...
Can you define special? As in not pretty enough/has her tits out for sad pervy guys on bikes? I don't know her well but Jules is the best female rider I've rode with. She practices on her 'oversized BMX' over and over and over to nail each trick just the way she wants. She is super dedicated to bikes, encouraging to other women and thinks all the hype is funny and strange...I think she's pretty special. She's just a normal girl doing what she loves and it's a massive fucking deal because she's a woman!
Anyway, doubt I'll go for the Hiplok...
get yer tits out
