@dicki rapper dancing is a sort of folk dance, a bit like morris but more gritty, northern and hard, less hey nonny nonny. They have these flexible sword things called rappers, which they keep hold of and get all tangled up and throw mad shapes and whatnot. Comes from the north east.

Anyway it's gonna piss down tomorrow. Just like last time I did GSIAD.

So, rapper means rapier then?

it's literal meaning is unclear, so I gather. the sword things may have their roots in leather work, sort of scraper things. rapiers are very thin, round sectioned, no? these are flat and broad and flexy, notably with two handles.

where is the ride hoping to go for central drinks? or is it all up to fate?

Yep, rapier is like a foil (smallsword), but bulkier.

EEI actually no, the rapper sword is actually based on a miners' tool, an adapted saw or a bed lath, whatever that is. anyway the dancing's at the RFH if anyone's interested.
