DON'T BUY THIS ROTORS
they're loose on rivets -
• #7253
Isn't that kinda the point of floating rotors?
-
• #7254
nope. The point is heat dissipation, also they should be stiffer than one-piece steel rotors. I have Shimano Ice-tech and they're stiff as hell, without any play.
-
• #7255
How does a rivet facilitate heat dissipation over a solid steel rotor? The rivets allow the steel to expand without warping.

Yes

It doesn't

I have Shimano Ice-tech
Shimano Ice-tech are not floating rotors, they are composite rotors comprising a steel friction plate rigidly fixed to an aluminium carrier-cum-heat sink

It's a front-back movement, when I pull brake levers on standing bike, it feels like loosen headset. I assume, that if the rotor is at the front end of that play when you break it will get slammed to the back. A lot of little impacts like that seems like it would cause early failure. Or am I wrong?
-
• #7260
That feeling can also be the brake pads moving slightly. Nothing to be worried about at all

Winter prep in full swing, just received these rear lights as backups, initial impressions are excellent.
-
• #7262
Nah, I've checked that. Movement comes from rotors. I've been speaking with some enduro guys, they also said that it's not normal.

I've got an ICAN AC059 as my 'cross race bike. I like it. It's light, stiff, and I got the frameset for buttons secondhand on eBay. The only thing I don't like about it is the groupset, but that's my fault for buying SRAM kit all those years ago.

I use them. Feels fine to me. But then I'm on cable disc so I don't expect to stop on a pinhead.

Can anyone help me - whats the best ali-express front light? up to around £40 and bright enough for me to cycle at night without road lights..

GaCIROn have come up a few times on here. V9C-800 would probably fit the bill..

have you had any experience re. reliability. I'm going somewhere pretty remote/wet and dont want to get caught short..
I know the obvious answer is to buy something more expensive, but meh.

• #7268
That's what came up from my research and a few people on here can vouch for them but I can't. https://www.lfgss.com/search/?q=GaCIROn&type=conversation&type=comment&id=185341&sort=date
I ended up buying a second Exposure Sirius for about £55 as I already have bunch of Exposure mounts.

Does anyone have a source of 135mm BCD 9 or 10 speed ring (pre-compact campag.) - a quick look on AliX only showed 130/110

source of 135mm BCD 9 or 10 speed ring
As I said earlier, France or Česko. In Europe, it's just about worth accommodating weird Italian exceptionalism. Globally, not so much.

• #7272
Haha cheers!
I'm assuming you mean ta & gebhardt -

I've got one set of 50mm/25mm non-tubeless clincher carbon wheels with novatec d771/772 hubs for a couple of years now and they've been perfect. Genuinely never needed to true them and recently used them on a fully laden panniers 10 day tour around France and they're still perfect. I did ask them for 28h front and rear which they did at no extra cost.
A mate from my old work bought exactly the same and as far as I'm aware his are still going strong too.
Got a set of 50mm/23mm tubeless rim brake clinchers for my brother and they're still going strong after a year or so. They're on novatec 482 hubs or something like that...
Recently bought myself a set of 60mm/23mm tubeless rim brake clinchers for my bob jackson. I fitted them and heard a crack, inflated the rear tyre and noticed a bulge in the rim. Might've been me being cackhanded fitting the cassette before getting a tyre on, but got in touch, sent them pics of the crack and they asked for $50 shipping costs to send me a new rim. It took aaaages. To the point that I thought they'd done me over. And then it turned up one day. I built that onto the original hub and it's been fine since (not loads of miles on it yet).
All in all, would definitely recommend them.
Edit: all U shape, as they call them. Think that's their newer type, supposedly better in crosswinds.
Any suggestions for a full carbon cyclocross frame?
Just for racing / having fun in the woods.
