Currently sat in my office at work is an "OTP" fixed gear bike, which I bought from Taobao (China's famous China's version of eBay). It wasn't [the] cheap[est] junk (by local prices) but it also is obviously far from high end. 1500RMB (just north of £150) seems to have got me a 4130 chromoly frame - novatech hubs and what appears to be for the most part no-name other components. Create/Unicack style junk goes for about 400RMB (£40ish) here as a point of reference.

Not sure how long I'll be out here, so resisted the urge to spend any more money - but will be interesting to see if it's made of complete cheese, or if it is of passable quality. It would never be cost effective to ship something like this to the UK in terms of what shipping would cost relative to the bikes price (and what you could buy used), but am intrigued to get at it from a purely academic standpoint regarding the cost/quality ratio of what China offers...

After using their 88mm carbon wheels for over a month now I can say they're absolutely flawless. Came really true and had all the signs of good workmanship. I've jumped, hopped and skidded them a fair bit with no problems. I can now confidently recommend them. Communication is also very good, understandable English and detailed and accurate responses especially with the technical stuff. They also lower the official price that customs see if asked to do so, so you hardly pay any tax.

Sorry, i've only run brakeless so far. I could try braking on them later on but will need to run the brake for a while before I can give a proper verdict.

I've been using my 38mm farsports tubs for about a year now.
They've been great, and I've ridden them over all sorts of shit, gravel roads etc.
There's a slight pulse when braking but it's a long way from being a problem.
Hubs have been fine too, they were delivered slightly dry of grease but easily sorted.
