• tricky, how?

They wind up about twice as much as Comps

  • I had no problem with Revs but I know some people have, due to the twist.

  • ah, I can imagine. I'm always pretty careful about twisting back every time I turn the nipples.

    Quoting for posterity

  • In the new year I want to build up a tarck/track/race/bling/whatever wheelset so currently I'm thinking

Mack LF track hubs/Sapim CX-Ray/23mm wide 50mm deep crabon clinchers.

    One or t'other

  • Not in a situation to have one of the other at the moment so they'll need to be wheels I can use on the road too, can just switch tyres.

  • That being said I do already have a disc and 4 spok for 'racing' should I choose to race track.

  • also; tricky, how?
I found revs quite lovely to work with.

    This.
It was a rushed build, and I got myself into a mess. Wheels are great now.

Where you getting the rims from?

  • I've got a brand new, never been used wheelset, Novatec 11 speed Shimano rear hub and lightweight front, double butted DT spokes (I think, I'll check which ones they are) to 20mm carbon clinchers.

Alex at Fitsrovia Cycles built them this Monday just past, but I'm tempted to sell them before I use them in order to get some tubs.

    Anyone interested in them?

  • Excuse ignorance and unwillingness to google. Can one bung a standard shim/SRAM ten on that hub?

  • Yes, with a spacer.

  • how much dammit?

  • Tom- it has said spacer for a 10 speed cassette on there.

    44/17- I was thinking £300

  • Yes, with a spacer.

  • Nice wheels

  • visagefist

    when facepalm is not enough

  • Any serious answer, my slave bike hungers for carbon

  • Do you know what they weigh Mr Dammit?

  • are those kind of wheel ok to do mad skidz in low spoke count ?

    no, you should get tubs

  • ^ you're right, I will take some of those track specific vittoria tub although I'm worried with the puncture resistance

  • Yes, tubs are much better for skidding.
