Anyone ever had problems with accuracy of elevation data after an Edge 800 has got really wet in the rain?
I got soaked this afternoon and the elevation / gradient stuff was definitely wrong thereafter. Am paranoid that it's got wet inside, but both the SD card and USB port covers were shut...

Could just be the cooling effect of the rain? Mine always shows massive elevation changes when you go hot room -> cold outside and vice versa.

^ Yeh, could be, who knows. Am just gonna have to wait til I next take it out and hope it's fixed itself I guess... fingers crossed!

JB, get Offmaps for offline maps on your phone, make exploring cities a lots easier.

I think the altitude is barometric so big changes in weather will probably screw it up.
What's the preferred "ahead" mount for an 800? I'm not fussed by aero or looks, just cheap and secure, it seems a lot more difficult to see on my stem than my previous Garmin was. Cheers

Cool, fingers crossed then. It went from nice clear and sunny to monsoon rain in about 30 secs so I hope that's what it is.
I use an 'ahead' mount made by barfly, it's really good. Cost about £15, dead solid and secure, and is slightly sunken so that the unit sits flush with the bars rather than sticking up over the top of them. That marginal gain has probably saved me at least a second over the 6 months or so I've had it

Don't know about cost but the BarFly 2.0 was suggested to me and I now rate it.

Hmmm massive weather change and you go straight for the OMG my Garmin's internals have got wet and evolved flippers and are now trying to escape the Earth's atmosphere bound for Mars, where we all know it's a secret rainforest under the red dust..

Should also comment here that the DCRainmaker instructions and OSM maps for Majorca worked a treat.

You Stop the timer. Then hold the Lap/Reset button for 5 seconds.

Or you save it to Strava will reset it or crash the ride. Only for the adventurous.

You can also just turn your Garmin off at the end of the ride, then upload it (uploading it will mean that when you next turn it on it will start recording a new activity).

Does anyone have any more feedback on the touring model? Still buggy? All sorted?

Stick with the old Etrex IMHO.

Bike nerdery ahead.
My gsc-10 appears to be working ok. I have pressed the reset switch. I can hear a click when the wheel magnet goes past the sensor. I can see a light flash. I can see cadence and speed output on trainer road (my garmin 705 is in storage, my edge 200 cannot display these things).
However, while the cadence may stay (relatively) constant, the "power" is going up and down and lagging or not even registering.I have 2 x rare earth magnets on the pedal and 1 x normal garmin wheel magnet.
I have tried no cadence on pedal and 1 x rare earth + normal wheel magnet on the wheel. The "power" is still going mental/not registering.Any ideas?
Should I ask in the trainerroad?
Sweet thanks amey
