I bought the superstar components garmin mount:
£12.99 and shits all over the actually Garmin or SRAM one. I can PM anyone a 15% off code I was given at the bike show too if anyone wants.

Does it extend far enough to allow use of a Garmin 800 extended battery usb connector?

Will check for you later

Not sure off hand, but it came with 2 sets of shims if i remember correctly. So i'm guessing 25.4 & 26.0

Brand new Fenix II arrived from Wiggle this morning - before I take it out of the box is anyone interested in it?

Tight but possible.
A right angle mini usb would probably solve any minor clearance issues.
My mount could probably go a smidge more too

Make sure you get the correct cable, there are 4 orientations of 90 deg connectors:-
- up
- down
- left
- right
The one pictured above ^ is an "up".
Helpful pic: http://www.l-com.com/images/d_angled-USB-cables.jpg
To make the cable come out of the right of my Edge 705 (as I have it mounted on the right hand aerobar extension) I needed a cable with a "down" Mini-USB connector.
- up

They sell a mount for extensions.

Not sure off hand, but it came with 2 sets of shims if i remember correctly. So i'm guessing 25.4 & 26.0
Cheers. Looking at the pics, one looks relatively slim, I assume to shim down to 26mm The other looks a little thicker, which I hope would shim to 22mm...

Ah, just found out they do a dedicated one for the aeroz!

I asked the question about size, and here is their response
"Thank you for your email. The Garmin mounts have a 31.8mm clamp size as standard, they are supplied with shims to allow them to be fitted to 25.4mm handlebar."

Ok I give up on this GSC 10 unit which is constantly giving me wrong (exactly twice I think) cadence reading!
No powermeter on the bike; did reset, searched and added the GSC10 unit .. what am I missing?

time for a new battery?

done that too

I think a right or an up would work for the 800.

31.6 down to 22.2 is going to need a lot of shimmage. Just buy the Zipp TT mount.

Going to be used with 310xt, so the unit mount needs to be 90deg rotated and so won't work with the Zipp mount. Looks like you can do that with the Superstar aerobar mount though, what with the bolt in the centre, a lot like the official Garmin mount.

I ordered one of these but just remembered the issue people had with being able to run 800s on external power if the USB pins weren't in the special Garmin configuration.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Will this adapter work?
-
• #1825
It should just be a straight through adaptor. The magic you need will be in whatever cable you already use that works.
Cheers. I've seen that one. Its for the Edge series, not the forerunner series. So the Mount is rotated 90 degrees relative to what I need. I did throw them an E-mail about making me a Forerunner Version. But they neve got back to me.
My other thought was that there isnt much room to Mount it. If I want to Mount aero Extensions occasionally.
This is the stem I hope to get. Its definitely marmite. But I can hide all my cables, and Junction Box. So it'll give a super clean cockpit.
